No one is gonna talk about the fact that Finn has his arm in every past life except the ones where Jake has a past life (the tiger)? They are more than soulmates, Jake is literally his right arm.

I love the idea that the Hall of Egress makes an extremely simple puzzle for someone that enters, but it's specifically designed to be something that the person will never think of. Finn would be too preoccupied with the magical part of the Hall that he would completely forget about the simple snowman puzzle

Egress is the episode that made me like the show. It felt like modern mythos. Its how I imaged reading greek literature would feel lol

Oh my god I just realised in Fiona and Cake when Fin and Simon explore the forest blindfolded Finn is extremely good at it BECAUSE of Egress

As a kid i never really understood hall of egress,i was always just scared of the episode,i just saw it as this terrifying fictional scenario that finn got trapped in but now i realise its more than that, its a metaphore for finn growing up.

Finn had to be repeating that moment for 3 to 4 years. If we assume it takes a month for jake and beemo to open his eyes 30 times implies 30 months, which is nearly 3 years by itself. And if we add on the time he spent in the wilderness by himself at least another couple of months to a year since it goes to winter then back to spring or summer. Meaning finn experienced being trapped and blind for 3 or 4 years

Another point about the snowman statue in the center - it’s upside down, with the head of the snowman at the bottom and the “gut” of the snowman at the top, symbolizing that Fin would need to use his gut/instincts/intuition to escape, not his head.

Hall of Egress : Hmm this kids pretty stupid, we'll give him an easy puzzle, upside down snowman, shouldn't be much trouble.
Finn the Human : (smashes statue into door)
Hall of Egress : You little shit.

The word egress was used by PT Barnum to trick people into accidentally exiting an exhibit and having to buy another ticket

Y’all remember the days when people were theorizing about how the land of ooo could possibly be a apocalyptic version of earth hundreds of years in the future oh how far we’ve come.      :Edit yes I know the land of ooo is earth hundreds of years in the future I just think it’s cool that we’ve gone so far beyond that

What i love about this show is how magic is making everyone gone bananas. You want awesome powers ? Pay for it with your sanity. Such great balancing rule, i love it

I think that the intended way the Hall of Egress was supposed to work is that it's a series of rooms filled with puzzles. Once you solve the puzzle the door opens and you enter a room with harder puzzles. The mechanic of closing eyes allowing you to walk through the door is a fail safe, so if you break the puzzle but don't solve it (like how Finn broke the snowman instead rearranging) then you can close your eyes, walk through the door and rhen reset the room you're in.

The question then becomes, why was there another Hall of Egress in the desert? I think that the most likely case is that the creator didn't want the person to close their eyes and walk through the original door of the hall of Egress as this may 'break' the magic of the dungeon and essentially allow them to exit the dungeon without needing to do any puzzles. That's why the hall wasn't there when Jake and Finn looked for it while Finn had his eyes closed. The Hall of Egress was in the desert, however, because the creator of the Hall of Egress can't actually remove the hall of Egress from reality. He can only reposition it. So if someone closes their eyes and makes it out the dungeon, then the whole of the dungeon will teleport to the desert.

The fact that it should be impossible for anyone to make it there while keeping their eyes closed proves that the creator never intended it to be a solution to the Hall of Egress. This is also why when he enters the Hall while in the desert it shows him transparent hall ways floating in nothing. It's like being under the map in a bideo game, and you see a reality unintended by the ceators of the video game.

I love that in fionna and cake its shown that dispite this experience being traumatic for finn he still finds comfort in releasing his control to the unknown and uses it as a form of therapy when simon needs help

I love how he thought of keeping his eyes closed forever in order to abuse what was likely meant to reset the puzzle for the next person before he thought of just restacking the snowman.

DUDE WHHHHHAT I NEVER NOTICED HIS EYES WERE CLOSED IN THE CRYSTAL BALL

I love adventure time. One of my favorite things about Finn is that he trusts himself to get out of this mess. He doesn't freak out of shut down. He stays calm and keeps trying to solve the problem.

Egress is not only just "exit" its not used in english much, but in spanish its a word we use to reffer to people who finished a degree or has already graduated "egresados" its kinda a term for someone who finished something. So hall of egress for me means like "a place where you need to finish or complete something"

Just wanted to leave something, Princess Bubblegum is Finns Internal Voice of Good, he uses her voices in his head as the way for righteousness and goodness

I think the joke is that the whole reset thing was just the rooms way of resetting the snow man puzzle, nothing more. Finn essentially spent months brute forcing his way through something by trial and error when 5 minutes of thought would have solved it immediately.
