What Doug Demuro Didn't Tell You About The E92 M3

For many years it's bothered me how Doug Demuro had misrepresented the E92 M3. I had the concept for this video in my notes for a while and when I saw Doug made another video about the car I thought it was too late. As it turned out Doug still has nothing too noteworthy or unusual to say about a very interesting chassis. This video is purely meant to be taken humorously, I have no ill feelings towards Doug. I am a fan!

The difference is, his first E92 M3 video was a review and the second one was an Ad.

This feels like a classic youtube video from the late 2000s in the best way possible.

He's most conflicted guy I ever saw also no matter how much he tried to hide it, his inner salesman comes out in every video

I've found Doug videos are more for entertaining the average audience rather than accurately representing the car.

The turn signal stock absolutely can be very confusing for first timers and non mechanically inclined people, especially under stress while driving. So legit quirk, but definitely should've been elaborated.

Bro, u never stop to impress me. You always play with the "comedy effect" to make it feel like it's just a funny / parodic video.. But in reality you put a huge amount of work in them and I absolutely love it ! Thanks for all your sharings about the the E9x platform and the N52/S65 engines !

Hey, fellow e92 m3 owner here. ☝🤓Actually, that air vent you mention on the hood at 14:36 is actually a pass through air vent, meant to allow air rammed in from the bottom air duct to escape, in order to provide the air filter with a fresh supply of air that isn't heated up by the engine. If you drive on the highway after letting the car sit in the rain, you can actually see water shoot up through the vent like a blowhole on a whale.

Also the passenger side one does passively let some hot air escape from the engine bay, again to prevent heat soak.

BMW engineers are some of the greatest in the world. Their emphasis on weight reduction, introducing an ongoing oil and coolant delete mechanism, is unmatched.

6:45 the point of this is that the dial is on the vents closest to your face. When you turn the heat up on a cold day, you will have warm air from blowing in your face. That specifically can make you tired or push you towards nodding off. So you can fine-tune the upper body (!) vents to be cooler than the rest of the cabin, keeping you alert and comfortable while still keeping your feet or the cabin warm.

FINALLY A REAL TEST DRIVE! respectfully, I think Doug has some of the most underwhelming "test drives" of most car review youtubers. I personally like JayEmmOnCars' test drives the most, as he almost treats them like a TV production with crisp engine sounds and drive-bys all while actually showing WHERE hes driving (and Doug has to have the ability to up the budget on production, instead of only pointing a camera at himself driving)
