The movie was filmed in Idaho and I live in Idaho. I can confirm that many buildings in the 2000s were stuck in the 80s. The movie is pretty accurate for it's time LOL

There was an important after credits scene where La Fonda and Kip got married

Ok, I Liked and Hyped it....Gosh!

I’m going to watch this while I make myself a dang quesadilla.

One of the ten best love stories of all time...involving bass.

The Tupperware scene with the van was an accident. The van was originally suppose to roll over the Tupperware but instead the bowl broke and the actor improvised his reaction and drove off. It was so funny they kept it in the movie ahahaha

I’ve watched this many times & it still cracks me up every time.
The simplicity of it makes it so unique.
They’re not trying too hard to be funny by forcing a bunch of jokes.
It’s just naturally funny. The actors did a great job with their mannerisms & facial expressions.

Efren Ramirez (Pedro) was at a movie reunion with the cast and someone asked him what he liked about the movie. He replied in perfect Pedro form, “I have nothing to say.” 😅😅😅

Vote for Pedro

My daughter and I use "Make yourself a dang quesa-DILLA!" as often as we can.

Fun Fact: Ligers are a real thing. They're a hybrid of a male lion and a female tiger. Ligers are also the Biggest cat in the world. Ligers can grow up to 12 feet long and weigh well over 900 pounds. You can see them at the Myrtle Beach Safari in South Carolina.

SMALL TOWN LIFE!

3:21 Battle Damage.

This film is awkward and hilarious. It shows what life is like in some isolated parts of America that are behind the times. The film is set in 2004 Idaho yet everyone wears 1980s clothing and listens to 1980s music. Napoleon’s house has 1970s furniture. They have late 1990s dial-up internet and Uncle Rico is obsessed with 1982. 😂

OMG my favourite comedy of all time!

It nailed so many aspects of coming of age in a small town, of being like 20 years behind the major urban areas. Where Future Farmers or 4-H still thrives because it's both relevant to being a rural kid and there's simply nothing else to do. Where elementary and high school kids have to ride the same bus, where a girl whose arguably at best a "7" is considered a 9 or a 10 because of lack of competition in a small population.

You missed the after credits scene.

In rural communities multiple grades ride the same school bus. As well things from the past tend to linger.

"Your Mom goes to college" The best and worst burn from a dork ever. My favorite scene still has to be Kip testing the bowl with the van and it explodes, because that was NOT supposed to happen during filming! Hilarious to me
