Ad | Where will every EFL League One club be in five years' time? I've gone through all 24 clubs — revenue, wages, net spend, profit and loss — and made a call on exactly where each one ends up.

Some of these clubs have no business being in the third tier. Leicester City were Premier League champions nine years ago and are now in League One. Sheffield Wednesday, Wigan Athletic, Luton Town and Reading have all won promotion to the Premier League at some point in their history. At the other end, Stockport County and Bromley are climbing fast, and Bromley were non-league as recently as 2024.
But the accounts tell a different story to the badges. Some of these clubs are spending money they don't have, some are quietly the best run in the division, and a couple are closer to trouble than their league position suggests. Plymouth Argyle, Huddersfield Town, Peterborough United, Barnsley, Blackpool, Bradford City, Charlton and Oxford United all get the full breakdown.
So which of these 24 are in the Championship or the Premier League by 2031, and which are gone out the bottom? Tell me the one prediction you think I've got completely wrong.
