Rex Gildo was the eternal heartthrob for millions, but later documentaries by NDR, RBB, and BR portray his manager, discoverer, and "uncle" Fred Miekley as also being a long-time partner. This documentary reconstructs how this public figure came to be, why his marriage and private life are still interpreted differently today, what happened after Miekley's death, and which accounts of Rex Gildo's final hours are actually substantiated.
