Peter Alexander was one of the biggest television stars in the German-speaking world for decades – and yet he withdrew from the public eye, even though his name and his old recordings continued to reach millions of viewers. This documentary reconstructs his last major shows, the unrealized comeback plan around the turn of the millennium, his criticism of the new television landscape, and the question of why a hiatus ultimately became a final farewell.
