The history behind Warframe's devs is insane and holy heck did they play the LONG Game. Definitely one of the most legendary dev teams I've heard of in recent time. Also No Clip is SO WELL DONE with their videos WOW.

Another little fact about totalbiscuit is that when news of his death came out there were multiple players in warframe who would go to certain social hubs in the game that had giant statues and would kneel down infront of them, holding what was technically an unofficial funeral/tribute for him, as if it wasnt for him Warframe would never have gotten the publicity it needed, there's even a video of this happening called "Larunda relay: the totalbiscuit kneel"

I was a Warframe Founder because I'm a Dev myself and it was good to see a fellow Canadian studio trying to do something fun and unique. It was very strange to see TotalBiscuit shout them out some time after that and thankfully they got an influx of people supporting them - which saved the damn studio.
PS. Rest In Peace TB,  you absolute legend. o7

Warframe is one of the few games, that paradoxically gets bigger the more you explore it.

I can't wait for the Warframe week where I can finally show him the trailers in the playlist I made

"what kind of game is warframe?"
"Yes"
Is my favorite way to describe modern Warframe. It has so many different game modes and areas that all feel totally different than each other, but yet it all feels native to it, like it was there from the start.

I was unemployed at the time, bedridden with health problems, and essentially had no spending cash. Digital Extremes reached out to me by email, presumably because I had recently joined an email list for alpha testing access to War Thunder and Planetside 2, inviting me to both purchase a founder's package, as well as to be one of the very first testers of the game. It's my understanding that of the first batch of 300 people outside DE to play Warframe, I was number 289. I regret always that I didn't have the means to purchase a founder's package, and that meant I was the only guy rocking a basic Mag instead of Excalibur Prime during the infancy of the game, but I would have contributed in a heartbeat to the rise of this game at the time, of I could have. I've made up for it since then, by far, and even back then, mine was part of the feedback that led to the introduction of the Mod system instead of the "skill tree" the alpha and beta builds, as well as the Orokin Reactor only being obtainable with premium currency; that's why it became something you would farm bosses, like Vor and Vay Hek, to obtain.

Speaking of which, Vay Hek used to be very friendly and happy-go-lucky, wielding two Hek shotguns (nicknamed the "AkHek"), with lines like "Come give your Uncle Hek a hug." Way back then, all Grineer spoke their own language, and Vor, Hek, Tyl Regor, and Kela de Theym all took years to move to speaking English in the base version of the game; interestingly, some of the character broadcast cameos (the little animated bust of the character that appears when speaking to the character) were animation- and lip-synced to the original Grineer language voice lines until only a couple of years ago.

The original Grakata had a sound that reminded me of the MG-42 from WW2, and was so much more imposing than the sound they replaced it just before the Earth tileset launched (which I still bemoan to this day, the current Grakata sounds like static fuzz by comparison.)

"Diablo Meets Halo" goes pretty hard as a descriptive elevator pitch. I need to remember that one.

11:05 The Redeemer is also a weapon in Warframe. Can’t believe it has such an old history behind its name.

It's a rarity to actually meet an Excal Prime on a mission or in the relays, so when one turns up, they become instant celebs. I personally have my equipped warframe bow everytime I meet one. And screenshots. Lots of screenshots.

Proud to be a Founder and be part of their early success, it is great seeing how far the game and the company have come.

Another Warframe founder here. I'm hyped for Duet Night Abyss.

General 23:07 timestamp for brevity

I played Destiny since its inception and beta test more than a decade ago. I have jumped consoles and dealt with rebuilding my account when I swapped from the 360 to PS4, and have seen the history of the franchise personally.

The moment they gave us a narratively complete way out (leaving alone whether it was satisfying or not) I dropped the game and haven't looked back. For 5 years I was addicted, for the last 5 I felt trapped in addiction. It was like an abusive relationship you jump into at an early age before you develop the common sense to see the signs.

The gameplay scratches an itch you never realized existed, in a setting with deep lore that digs further down with every reveal, with a style and aesthetic that felt like a visual feast as symphonies blare in the background.

$100 dollars please, hours of grinding please, Another $40 please, we're moving the goal posts again, those promises we made a few months ago? Don't know what you're talking about, I'll be taking another $20 for seasonal content you don't care about but need to keep up, good thing it's being deleted so we can bring back a shuffled version next year! Oh you liked this seasonal? Too bad, we'll probably recycle it too with some bells and whistles in another temporary-

My bad, ranting. Please don't touch Destiny, it's not worth the effort anymore.

Oh, man. This docuseries is one of my favorites of all time; especially with the interviews Danny released as supplementary material for it - he released full versions of the interviews with James Schmalz, Steve Sinclair, and Rebecca Ford, and it's so fascinating to see their insights with regards to DE's history and Warframe. I also have immense respect for Steve because of how he ultimately gave up directorship of Warframe to Rebb to focus on directing Soulframe and being the CEO of DE: What CEO have you heard of who does that? And Rebecca becoming creative director has led to an absolute windfall of incredible content expansions for the game: In the last few years we had the incredible Whispers in the Walls and Warframe: 1999, and this year we'll be getting even more incredible content in the form of The Old Peace as well as boatloads of awesome quality of life updates that have made things better for the player experience overall. Whatever's happening behind the scenes the DE we see on our side as the end user is one that truly cares for its playerbase and listens to what they're saying.

EDITED TO ADD: I do want to note that it's funny that now Nexon - who turned down DE in Warframe's natal stages - has its own Warframe clone in The First Descendant.

FURTHER EDIT: With regards to TotalBiscuit, this guy was a legendary independent game reviewer who hosted podcasts, did let's plays, provided color commentary for competitive StarCraft, did buildcrafting for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft (back when I played that game, I copied his "Archmage of the Entire Freaking Universe" deck) and, as this series showed, was a massive influence in Warframe's monster success. When the news broke of his dying from colon cancer back in 2018, which was right around when DE was about to do a Prime Time stream, Rebb and Megan Everett (the current community head) broke the news to the audience through tears and cancelled the stream; after that, the community held an impromptu mass vigil for TotalBiscuit at the game's player hubs that Rebecca herself showed up to using her exclusive "Lotus" skin. It was very much a deeply sad time for us when that happened, and I hope he's found peace in the afterlife - whatever that form that may take - and I wish his wife the best.

I remember seeing Skillup’s review, back when he made a little tag line for his stuff

In his words: “I cannot believe this is Free”

IM HERE! This game is a banger its come SO FAR from when it started. i recommend learning about the character called clem.

PLEASE REACT TO PRIME TRAILERS🙏

You have to watch prime trailers UD. And try playing the game for about a week! or until the quest 'second dream' which is fairly easy to reach

Warframe is bascially Canadian Anime Frankenstein's Monster that somehow works.

Still hoping you give Warframe a fair shot one of these days
