You forgot the most important thing: most artists are introverts. They don't engage in conversations with smiling strangers. The fear of being rejected is higher than the desire to sell.

Omgosh, Maria! I just did inventory on all the paintings and prints I have and at my prices and it totaled ~$4,200. I have DOZENS, probably almost 100 pieces and my heart just sank. 42 hundred might cover 2.5 months of bills and I’ve spent sooooooo many hours with each of my little babies, my paintings. I guess a mindset problem I have is think bc I live in a rural area I can’t charge a lot and my art maybe isn;t good enough to charge more for. I’m literally in the red with my bank account and trying to book shows and it’s just a whole friggin mess. I don’t think I can afford a mentoring or coaching program right now BUT… i just want you to know your videos are keeping me focused and slowly chipping away at my self doubt and I can’t thank you enough. I sold four pieces from one social media post the other day because I made the offer and told the viewers how to buy. It was amazing!

Thank You Maria 😊
Thank You for this Wisdom!

As someone, who dug ditches in undergrad and does not enjoy flying coach, I will be re-watching this video A LOT! 😁Thanks Maria!

❤Wow the painting behind u it's  hard to believe it's half finished! Gorgeous!! ❤

My art teacher told me the same thing in high school. "You'll never make it as an artist". I never understood why people with influence would say such a thing. Why not say "here's how you make it as an artist"  thank you for doing that! Showing us how to make it, and that we can make it!

right..... lol lemme get right on that. First I gotta learn how to correctly art.

You rock with that advice. Subbed. Drew Rocks too. Awesome art and what a way to realize a dream .

Nice touch on the negative thoughts sound. It does bring your attention back to zero.

Hey Maria! I absolutely LOVE your energy and your videos, your advice and the information you help others with.
I've tried to reach out to Sunny at one point, but I was having an existential crisis at the time, and..that's a whole story.
BUT anyway, this isn't about me right now.
I might try to message you privately. I commented on a video of Drew's and I think YouTube censored it or something happened.
I would also love to work with you personally one day.

Kerrrreeeennn!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Ive been following you for about 15 years and have literally just started reading your book. My question (more for myself) is whether the current world will allow this like it did for you and Drew over the last 20/ 30 years. Given I'm almost 60, i need to make this happen within the next year or so. Eeeekkk! I really need to know how to fast track what you did over a longer period. Ive sold before and then had to support a family. I still need to support a family but really, really want to make this work. Ive had enough of financially struggling (and working as a graphic designer, instead of using my creativity in the way i want.

I've been painting for 30 years. I'm lucky if I've sold 10 paintings.

I think you have a high metacognitive IQ.  That's rare.  I have a question.  What is the feasibility of renting a space on a wall in a hotel or other venue as a gallery space?  An old hotel in a nearby town has been fully restored to its 1870s condition. This town is the gateway to the San Juan Mountains.  It is the kind of place where people with money and taste would stay to see the fall colors, for example, or to fly-fish the Rio Grande River.

No Brasil você morre de fome. Aqui o povo compra comida

With the advent of AI images that keep getting better and better over time I don't think its appropriate to encourage people to make a career out of painting. It's a market that's drying up pretty fast. Just my 2 cents.
