For a long time I've been saying "everything is dragon" but evidence in Nod-Krai has me thinking "everything is angel..."

So then I thought, what if I combine the two? "Everything is dragon-angel!"

And then things got out of control and I read several hundred pages of literature on angelology, made an angelic hierarchy and a genealogy chart.

Enjoy...?

*NOTES & CORRECTIONS*
- None... YET. I anticipate Zibai and Columbina's release in 6.3 will bring some.

Everything is angel, but ultimately everything is dragon

So the whole story of Genshin Impact is just one big family feud?

Ashikai, you can't just say "I think we know who Koitar is" and then NOT elaborate on it 😭

“This is a public service announcement from Celestia about the tiered heavens and the hierarchy of angels. Celestia would like to remind you that you are not authorized to know about these things.”

Fairy is one of the common words used by npcs to describe Paimon too. I'll let someone else decide if that means anything or not.

"St. Augustine says: "'Angel' is the name of their office, not of their nature. If you seek the name of their nature, it is 'spirit'; if you seek the name of their office, it is 'angel': from what they are, 'spirit', from what they do, 'angel.'""

8:34 "I don't know if that's metaphorical or literal, but I'm gonna take it as literal because I think it's funny." 😂 Same, the idea of Andrius and Columbina being siblings/cousins actually deserves fanart, I love it

19:18 "The other three [Descenders] haven't made any creatures that we need to sort."

Here's a crack theory for you: what if the Traveler "made" Paimon (unwittingly) by fishing her out of the Primordial Sea (by way of the dark sea at the edge of the world)? This idea plays nicely with the way she seems to be a child, and is distraught when separated from the Traveler (especially thinking of the Samsara cycle back in Sumeru, but there are other lesser examples here and there, too). Just thinking out loud, here.

Scylla’s name of from Greek mythology and is pronounced (sill-a) like staying still without the t and then an ah at the end

And then there's Liloupar, who belonged to the division of angelic beings in the sublimary sphere regarded as "judges" in the more conservative texts. These angels were stationed among mortals to serve as beacons of relativity and [un]friendly reminders that your parents and siblings aren't that bad.

Istaroth being a former moon goddess makes sense, considering how Zibai a seelie/angel is considered her daughter and Frostmoon scions have records of a heavenly envoy living on the moon. Zibai could very well be living on her mother's moon, until it was either destroyed or abandoned..at which point she came to Teyvat and settled in liyue.

32:07 you never need a justification for using footage from Hades, but if you want one abs works perfectly

9:26 My theory was that Mora was primordial power similar to Primordial Water and Phlogiston since it allows transmutation. That would also explain how Zhongli has authority to produce it since it would be Authority of Dragon from his Divine Throne. Maybe in days of dragons it had different form but Heavenly Principles and Zhongli made it shaped as something easy to use by humans. Also, Mora has Triquetra symbol.
