Heya Shortcat

I’m 2nd WW on RR right behind Technical. The reason we don’t do the crystal shortcut isn’t anything to do with water speed. It’s because we’d be missing the 2 coins in the water section and we’d also end up being too fast for the coins that the train throws which are on a cycle from the moment the race starts

The cloud strat you talked about is in S4 on the long turn before the 2nd to last glider. It’s not done in WRs yet because it’s incredibly hard and only at most saves .15. The strat is incredibly volatile on how much you can save. That’s why it’s not done in runs yet.

1:05:34 “so I can destroy children across the world doing a crazy strategy they didn’t even know about and that’s what brings me the most joy out of anything in this game”

Can't belive Mario kart world is already 7 months old. Proof that time flies when your having fun 🎉

hey shortcat! choco mountain WR holder here, katie (and twelfth). it's an honour to see you react to our wrs, the effort you put into making these videos and putting our small niche into the spotlight to hundreds of thousands of different people across the world. and i suppose i do want to mention thanking you for getting me into mario kart into the first place. i remember when you first started your channel back when i was only 12 years old (almost 3 years ago now!) i saw some of your shorts for some of the new BCP shortcuts, and ever since then i've been hooked, and now i'm here. i've been following your content ever since and it's amazing to see how far you've come since then. keep on going shortcat, and keep inspiring people just like you did to me 3 years ago. 🫶

When we get to one year, you should compare the time to the day one world records to see how much they got improved

Hey Shortcat! I'm 9,932,854th on Peach Beach and just wanted to say thank you for reviewing these records! While I haven't gotten anywhere near a record, I can provide some great insight as to the strategies on the track. The reason they don't use the mushroom at that first grass cut is probably because they forgot the button to use items. That's a big problem for me so I assume everyone else has the same issue. The wall strats are actually really tricky because walls stop your car when you move into them. I've actually learned to avoid walls by turning, though that's a bit of an advanced strategy you probably can't implement online. You're correct that the water is slow, but it's very fun to splash around in so a new strategy we're developing is staying in there a long time to have a pool party. As you can tell we've really optimized things here. On behalf of the entire Mario Kart Speedrunning MySpace, thank you, and I hope by the next time you review, I'll be able to make it to 9,932,853rd!

Shortcat, you really shouldn't sell yourself short on Dino Dino Jungle. The record may currently be 6 seconds faster, but they also buffed trick boosts since then so you likely wouldn't have been stomped by the T-Rex near as much if you played the track exactly the same now.

It's the end of the world 💀💀💀💀💀

Shorcat didn't complain on peach beach WR.

I got to say, thanks Shortcat for not just sitting there and “reacting” to the WR’s. You’re actually explaining them and giving your own perspective on it.

When I see this kind of videos, I imagine a shortcat talking to a mic like a race comenter

I love that you’re not typically a Time Trial Runner yet your content has helped the community.

21:08 the pure joy and whimsy in his voice

23:17 hello ! 😂🎉

I enjoy your guides and such, but man have I been craving some shortcat competitive videos

This is terrific to watch how quickly gamers have cracked the trick system in Mario Kart World. It really does feel like a brand new videogame, and not simply the latest in a long-running series. The only change I'd like to see from Nintendo would be 1) making the water a little faster, and 2) continue to add new twists, turns and surprises to the highway/intermission tracks. I'm sure the inevitable DLC update will be amazing, and I do hope Nintendo continues to make tweaks and additions in the coming months and years.

HIII! DK Pass WR holder here!!! Just wanted to say ty for all you have done in this community (specially to us competitive players) and for bringing the chilliest vibes ever. Also lots of thanks for saying my bf's name instead of mine HEHEHEHEHEH. We love you. (´∩｡• ᵕ •｡∩`)
