Watching shortcat while kicking my feet rn

Pretty cool, but what if we were in a parallel universe, where your name is Longcat and you NEVER use shortcuts but still win.

7:59 Petey actually didn’t have a special item of his own in double dash. Him and King Boo had the unique ability to pull any special item in the game!

I remain convinced that they rebalanced Yoshi to be a top character so that lobbies could have the appearance of variety.

Dry bones on the land ship is actually just one of the cutest combos in the guy. He's just a little guy 🥺

16:00 as someone who DID play mario kart 7, i can confirm this! gliders worked very differently in mario kart 7 than they did in mario kart 8. for one, as you mentioned, gliders don't end until you touch the ground. you could also cancel your glide by hitting b (but it was a stupid idea because it'd drop you STRAIGHT down and you'd have to reaccelerate). however, gliders were also way more fun in mario kart 7 because they allowed you to go up much more than they do now.

maybe unrelated to the video but thank you Shortcat for putting actual captions on ur video, I’m in a very public space right now but I’m bored as hell and would not want Mario kart gameplay to be blasting from my phone

Bro got the authentic Mario Kart Wii experience

This is why i love 10k VR lobbies, look at those variety combos, making the game more lifely that knowing this game doesn't only have Yoshi or Peach.

5:26 To be fair, the courses were designed for one item on the Wii U version, so bagging probably wasn’t as big of a concern.

"Shorcat this is the first time you recognize older mario kart games in class"....

21:00 A greek god heard you and decided to punish you for your hubris

Not gonna lie, it was REALLY gratifying to see Funky Kong/Flamebike lose like that.

14:37. Hot Monster tires used to bounce in Mario Kart 7 as well. Actually the "bounciness" in that game was literally a statistic called "stability" (TireFeeling), and even if there were 20 levels like in 8, this stat could actually only assume 3 different values based only on the tires. Small tires had the best stability, medium tires mid stability and big tires minimum stability.

That was PERFECT fire hopping

-A person who still plays mk8U because poverty

7:53 Petey and Boo's special item was all of them.

4:13 “My son is playing with me.”
-Shortcat 2024

Watching that star get stolen on cheese land was like watching the final act of a greek tragedy. Flew too close to the sun and fell on his sword 😔

Fun fact, funky flame runner was SO dominant that playing anything but funky flame runner or daisy machbike in competitive was considered throwing and bannable

15:22 THE SHORTDUCK APPEARANCE 🔥🔥🔥
