This is my favourite reaction. I’m screaming “finally someone interprets these songs like I do and feels how sad and painful they are!” Your empathy is what makes your reactions so amazing ❤

Aaron dies a little every time people think his production is Jack 😢

To me, the Joe and the Matty bleed together because she was confiding in Matty towards the end of that relationship and he knew all of the things that she wanted from it and didn't get and he promised them to her for the thrill of stealing her away. And then she realised that he was just full of shit and it was like the same thing happened to her twice in short succession. The only song, I think, purely about Joe is really more sad but accepting because he was just too caught up in his depression, but the songs about Matty are more scathing.

"It's sad, but I'm bopping."  Interesting. That's how I currently describe my life.  😏

What I love about this album is precisely that it’s about Matty. I think that brief and disastrous relationship IS her dealing with the breakup from Joe. She felt like so much of her youth and her life was wasted, sunk cost fallacy and all that, which made her incredibly susceptible to lovebombing. It’s the addict who got clean getting their first taste of heroin after years of sobriety. It’s a love bender, full of high highs and very low lows. None of us was expecting this to be what the album was about, and I love that.

I think the "coming back" on The Alchemy is also a reference to her return to the States and dating a guy from "home" after being in London and dating a few Brits.

I was literally shocked that MOST of this album was about Matty Healy. He was her plan B. He lovebombed her, crashed his rental car, slept with her, and then ghosted her. He was an alcoholic, pill popper, cheater and racist. He made awful rude and hateful remarks about her to a popular journalist. She loved him from 2014-2023. When they finally got together and only then did he show his true colors. She ran to Matty right after Joe and Matty broke her. They were having the non-touching affair for a decade so she was INVESTED in her relationship with him. People started those petitions and crap… but he ruined it anyway.

Amazing reaction as always !!! <3 <3

Oh the Matty Healy of it all.  None of us were prepared!  I LOVE this album.  I've been a happily married boring person for almost 16 years, but I'm still a messy girl at heart.  Lol.

Loved every minute of your reaction as always and can't wait to hear your thougts on part 2! ❤️

i have yet to see anyone notice this but in i can fix him, the last chorus is all in past tense; it goes from "SHAKE their heads" to "SHOOK their heads," "your good lord DOESNT need to lift a finger" to "good lord DIDNT need to lift a finger" and so on. just a great writing detail

1:05:12 The 1975 song About You is in the background of Guilty as Sin. That’s the song that MH dedicated to her on stage last spring.

Thank you for mentioning her depression because I have been thinking and saying this a lot like Taylor was not okay and I am pretty sure if she didn't have the eras tour it would have been worse for her. In down bad "waking up in blood" I am too scared to know what that means but I think you know that hurts me so much to even think about it. Its really devestating to me that people only care who the songs about what about Taylor's feelings? 😢

In "Glitch" she says 2,190 days of our love blackout.. and everyone assumed that meant Joe since she was with him for 6 years... BUT... blackout dates are the dates you're not allowed to use your pass. So... it would be about someone she COULDNT BE WITH for 2,190 days since she was with someone else....

Not Taylor taking 'Long Live' out the tour and replacing it with "WAOLOM" and "BDILH" being like yeah bitches these songs are about you too haha.

Matty healy is the tattooed golden retriver. GQ was also nice enough to share an interview clip they did with him where he talks all about how he loves typewriters

“red flag with a blue lens is colored lavender” omggg?!!!!

My friend was an anti-Matty naysayer, she literally sold her Eras tickets over it.  And now whines about how sad she is to be missing the Eras tour.  Like, girl.  Whose fault is that?  LOL

Loml is my favorite track on this album. Who’s afraid sounds like a tornado. Genius

Midnights was joes tape

I never thought any of her work wasn’t based on her life. She always writes in code. But yeah it make perfect sense now. Matty wasn’t on my bingo card either,
