Dont go away reefbum :( love the lives

Fantastic episode, Keith. I really look forward to these episodes but luckily we have a massive library of your work. Congratulations brother and I look forward to the meckly episode

Thanks for sharing your views, gentlemen. Special thanks to Sanjay! Keep it simple, people.. water changes!
The answer to do better is to keep it simple and stop messing up with chemistry. The best light to resemble the natural sunlight... real full spectrum offering the best primary energy to the whole system (halides and/or T5s). The rest is mostly addition of minerals, water movement, water changes to keep ionic balance favorable, feed the fish and export detritus, keeping nutrients in check. Problem is that everyone ignores those simple points and continue messing up with the chemistry as much as they could... as Sanjay said very well in other words... no one really know what they are doing with all those tests and expensive bottles.... anyways... How much more are people going to push the limits of the corals in captivity? What is the goal with all that?? LOL! I mean, if we already had the most amazing reef tanks in the 90's, why did we look for the mess we have today? Money? To have the worse looking tanks, as many have today? And they still call "upgrade" when they go from halides to LEDs?? LOL!
Seems like the more I say, the more ignored I am too, so.. LOL! Love you guys.

Ok... not going to comment on DOC. That is well known since the mid 90's. Fashions... they come and go.

Kalkwasser... the mistake is when it's OVERDOSED IN ANY WAY TO CONTROL anything like pH, alkalinity or calcium. Add kalk at night in very small amounts at a time, dripping. The pH of the system should be max 8.3/8.4 during light hours. No significant precipitation will occur. There will be no problems. No slurry! Dosing during the day should be avoided in most cases. I can dose kalk for 20 years and not having ANY problems at all!! Had also aragonite sand in the system and NO hard corals. Ha! No petrified sand effects either. Testing Mg, Ca++ and Alk with regular home tests once a week will do it. Not a big deal with the minor precipitation/ binding of organics/ bacterial. Not a significant mark around the water/air interface either. Now.. when people decide to use kalk as they wish is when things get out of track. We know all that very well since the mid 90's too!

Name game... it's out of control. This hobby is just not the same as before.

My suggestion to reduce the number of episodes, but keep doing them once or twice a month with only the "masters of reef keeping" is here! That way we will still have you on, Keith! I'm sure you love to do the interviews and will most likely miss them, like many of us.
GOTTA LOVE ACROS!

Great discussion, Plz  invite them again, and add Doug Dorrat.

Loved it thanks Keith

We all know that consistency and stability is the key to success.  Good aquarium husbandry is more valuable than anything else.

🐐 thk !

Life is so complex and yet discoverable. The only viable explanation is that it's designed.

Loved how claude came up immedeatly with an polite answer when he was ask how he spots american test results. I bet he wrote that down before. Also it is so hard to hear old seniles talk about things wich are way  beyond their understanding and because of that, they repeat "keep it simple" as the phrase for everything. The candidat for a nursing home had a good start when he talked down on organics and there are good tanks with yellow water therefore organics doesn't matter while you could exchange the complete tankwater with pure alcohol and wouldn't have yellowing at all. As if all organics have a color. I hate this false balance where experts like claude get put on the same level as some seniles wich stoped evolving 20years ago

Can't watch for adds every five minutes.

Dude works his ass off…
Has contributed to the hobby unlike most “reefluencers”
Has the best guests on….
And i see like 500 views and 50 likes.
Meanwhile brs “choosing your clean up crew” gets 50k.
We lost reefbuilders to these momos bahama lame-o and crew…
And now keiths prolly done making these for such a small audience.
Freakin blows man
