Vergil has went from the storm that is approaching to a withering away cloud barely raining

Foolishness, Netflix. Foolishness.

What I really hate the most is that "Positions are switched" line
It had no business being here this early

Vergil is allergic to people, deadass the entire thing abt his character is that he isolated himself thinking he could not ask for help, that he alone had to save himself and he literally only interacts the bare minimun And was WAITING for the second he could dump Arkham so he didn't had to hear him talk.

Putting himself through A Live Audience WITH CAMERAS sounds nightmare fuel for his introverted ass XDD

I am a silent fart that is approaching

He looks so rigid. Like he is made of Styrofoam. His animations have to be smooth. Relaxed and fluid. Yet sharp. The guy literally is the embodiment of “Good isn’t Good Enough”. He wants to be the best so no one can ever hurt him again. His entire motivation stems from that. The fact they can’t even get that much right, means they didn’t understand the character to begin with.

Dante is the one always feeling conflicted. He always is on a razors edge, trying not to go too far. Because he seen what it does to people. When power is just let loose. It destroys everyone, including the person wielding it. It is why he is always trying to save Vergil from himself. He doesn’t want to see his brother rip the world apart just to feel safe. He was right there. Waiting for him.

The love between these brothers is often overlooked. We see them fight but Vergil is trying to mask a deep longing to go back to the way things were. Dante is just trying to forget and maybe find something to hold onto. But they both love each other. In their own messed up way, they fight so much because that is how they communicated for so long. To them it is talking. And it is funny that Nero accidentally ends up getting through to them by kicking their asses.

This Virgil has the wrong motivations

i dont plan to watch the show but my main complaint is.. why is it so marvel sci fi looking? they could have at least tried to visually match the games gothic feel?

Okay, but, can we talk about how much they messed Yamato up too? There is no reason why it should look like devil sword Dante whenever the twins trigger, especially not with the sparda still around. It really didn't need to visually change just so that the twins' weapons are also looking like twins, which makes even less sense because they are heirlooms that daddy made long before the boys were even a conscious thought... and this gets worse the more I think about it.

Gotta love Vergil saying to question his sources and then proceeds to not question the guy whose lied to him for over a decade.

Imagine if Mundus gets defeated off screen next season

18:11 what makes this scene worse is that in the scene from V this is clearly trying to rip off, Dante only 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘴 that Vergil's holds a grudge against Eva for thinking she only saved Dante but from V talking to Nero and in Visions of V we learn he doesn't think that at all, he thinks 𝙝𝙚 was at fault for not being strong enough.

Literally the only time Vergil has smirked was when he and Dante fired a jackpot at Arkham, that’s how reserved he is that he’s only willing to joke and larp with his brother.

...why wasn't Vergil deflecting and reflecting the bullets in that opening scene like he is pretty much trademarked to do? Like.... it's genuinely a game mechanic that you CAN'T shoot willy nilly at Vergil, no matter the projectile. Bullets, shotgun shells, rockets, he doesn't care.

Where's your motivation, Netflix!!?

Also the fact that he THREW the Summoned Sword with his HANDS??? It looks so goofy. Something Dante would do, does not fit Vergil at all. Vergil doesn't need to physically throw the swords, would've been so much cooler to see them zip through the humans and making quick work of them.

you know... its funny how demake El Virigin, the literal spoiled, rich foster kid is somehow unironically more in line with proper Vergil.

At the very least they mask their problems by focusing on power alone, its different but they both view humanity as far beneath them in every way, therefore relying on their own weapons alone, outside of one scene(Jackpot scene for Vergil, pro choice scene for El Virgin).

Both rely soley on their connection to sparda to state how strong they are, rather than making their own accomplishments despite being able to

both ARE ungodly powerful and essentially destroy everything outside of Dante.

Both are treated like the more intelligent and precise threat compared to the fake final bosses of their story

do i think they are actually comparable, no.

do i think deboot el vergin even compares to the time, effort, and quality put into Vergils story and characterization? damn no

however, you can actually call deboot el virign a bad adaptation.  Netflix Virginia is a wholly different, incomparable, and worse character than either version of Vergil before

i hate how the Netflix "show" is so bad that i find myself constantly saying that even the deboot that i hate more than most of its haters do, did it better than this show

i will say though, both El Virgin and Netflix Virginia showing up on live tv is the most ridiculous garbage ever, Vergil hates humans and whilw respecting the concept of demons, doesnt respect a single demon either, even his "praise" to his father is more of him setting a goal he needs to achieve and finding the idea of his fathers surface level facts more appealing than the MAN that his father was.

Vergil doesnt seek validation(from others that is) cause those people could be wrong, die, change their mind.

he doesnt want social status, rank, wealth, nothing material that only holds conceptual meaning

he doesnt care to explain his views to anyone but his little brother and that's cause Dante tried to challenge Vergils goal in the dmc3 prequel manga, and even then he doesnt wait for Dante to respond, because its not something he could be shaken in his beliefs about until SORT OF dmc5 where V had a whole mini series and game of character depth, and through urizen has his mind opened due to all the things that lead to Urizens pretty steep rise  to power yet even steeper defeat.

oh and 10ish years of nonstop torture from mundus

Nothing but his own objective power objectively being above every other force that exists will appeal Vergil and everything he does will be for that goal(up to this point)

he would never see any appeal in talking to a mass audience, or any audience at all

They also gave Netflix Vergil an inferiority complex. "Wah, wah! My baby brother is loved by mommy more and can kick my ass, even though I am a better swordsman now." Even video game Vergil would tell Netflix Vergil to shut up.

the thing that pisses me off the most about the first Vergil fight scene is the fact that the planes (av8b harriers) fire missiles that are based on early model of the aim 9 family, of AIR TO AIR missiles

what i hate about the netflix may cry is the blatant ripoff from better dmc stories or scenes like their reunion in DMC 5, then the role reversal script. but man the weirdest one is how emotional these 2 are. but you wont have time to think about that because they probably used another catchy song from the 2000s to drwon out your senses with nostalgia. Critical Drinker calls that "Rapid Fire Stupidity"
