I was involved in the incident that occured. It happened at Parafield Airport in Adelaide South Australia approximately in 2000. A trainee pilot hand started a plane without chocking the wheels. It went runaway and sliced up the other plane before hitting a fuel tank spilling 10,000 litres of aviation fuel. I took the emergency phone call from the the pilot.

“In 2001, in New York, two planes…” is never a great start to a story

I first watched MythBusters toward the end of the fifth season, and now, having the chance to watch the first four, it’s fascinating to see how rushed things seemed at the start; it feels like they lacked the time and resources they eventually gained later on—everything was quite limited and had to be done within much tighter deadlines. It’s interesting.

When I was in scouts I had to make fire by rubbing 2 sticks together. I was just about done, I had the kindling just getting a tiny flame on it and then a drop of sweat fell off my nose and put it out. I had to start over, while my arms were already tired and palms already starting to get blisters.

I find the build team continuously failing to make fire to be the most hilarious thing ever.

I guess they got more slices because it was a three-blade prop instead of two-blade?

I think that high five at the end is the most excited I've ever seen Jamie on the show, he's positively giddy in that segment there, beaming with joy.

oof, anyone familiar with marine mammal zoology knows IMMEDIATELY what those slashes are on that plane photo. Like yup, that's what a propeller strike looks like all right...

Realizing that Kari, the younges of them all, is already 50 years old makes me feel really old. God damn. This show is one of the best television ever produced.
