It really annoys me when people condemn content creators for abbreviating certain words. Like they obviously don't do that for fun. It's literally the only way to discuss sensitive topics without getting censored, and it's really important to talk about these things

i also see that a lot of stuff regarding menhera and the controversies between jp vs international communities is just from misunderstandings. some of the stuff bisuko is saying (not all obv) were fine too. just the translations were a bit off. this community is very very local. learn japanese if u can. take translations with a grain of salt.

I think part of why Japan has gravitated so much towards the Kawaii stuff is because of collective and societal trauma and pressure. It functions like a release valve.

Mentioning pirating sites gives them a higher chance of getting taken down, the site you mentioned at 5:56 already had a a take down scare earlier this month...

I'm honestly a little sad to hear about Bisuko Ezaki's behavior surrounding fans of Menhera-chan. I don't know if that'll change the way I look at her or something, but it'll definitely make me reconsider giving him my money.

it makes me really sad how rude ezaki bisuko can be towards the fans just because they use unofficial stuff… i understand where he’s coming from but the thing like the ita bag made me very upset when i first saw it when the post was first created. also apparently he’s against people pirating the manga, which is confusing to me because as you mentioned there aren’t really many physical copies? i got told this by someone else, so im not sure if thats true but i wouldn’t be surprised if it is

My takeaway from this is however good the main message of the manga is, the creator's behaviour presents tons of examples why japanese culture had failed him and many others. He's acting in such spite, hypervigilance, and who knows what else. I hope he realizes the harm he's doing and reconnects with the rest of the menhera community on better terms. Mental health struggles are smth to be healed in community, not alone

For anyone interested in series similar to Menhera-chan, I want to shine a spottligh on Suicide Girl by Atsushi nakayama! It's a completed 10 volume manga with a more horror bent while still retaining the core aspects of what a magical girl story has (Communication, power of friendship etc.).

i simply think its full on delusional to become so popular you have thousands of fans, and get invites to travel over seas, and can afford to trademark your characters and have official mass produced merch, then throw a tantrum over fan merch. This is givin gthat one vtuber who burned her career to the ground throwing a tantrum over a fan made plushie.

I actually met Bisuko Ezaki at Anime Expo back in like,2018 or 2019 in SoCal. Was around the time when his crash out stuff started to happen and it was a really weird vibe. A lot of the peeps wanted to be excited but he felt pretty unapproachable and was honestly kinda cold to fans. Idk,I don't mean to shit on him or anything,but he was def a talking point of the convention that year. Still have a massive love for Menhera chan and the idea behind it all,shit helped me a lot back in the day.
