The lowest setting should have made it look like one of those old LCD Tiger Electronics games.

This really makes you appreciate the Gensis' graphical ability.

Imagine you get hurt in real life but it lowers the fps. So each time you get hurt in real life it lowers the quality each time.

The only thing this is missing is a couple "better than 16bit" variants in addition to the rest. A Sonic Mania version (with better music, better animation than 16bit, wide screen aspect ratio etc), followed by a Sonic Generations version that turns into fully-3D graphics when you're doing very well. That would be mind blowing.

When is game boy mode: Greeeeeeereenier hill zone

@TheOofaloofa 5 years ago

This reminds me of a game called Bit Trip. Flux. It’s a rhythm game where you need to keep to the beat to improve the music. The more you miss, the more the game downgrades it’s visuals.

“Oh no” flashbacks to knuckles saying the same thing

I think the step below original is supposed to imitate NES, he even implemented the characteristic sprite flickering on that one. The one even lower looks like Atari to me. Quite cool.

Your performance affecting with the graphics is an interesting idea

If you want to know the names of Badniks, there's a website dedicated to that, called The Eggman Empire. Though last time I viewed it was several years ago, so I dunno if it's still up or not.

The "gameboy" mode reminds me more of a Tigar Handheld from the 90s...

@TheJPooka777 5 years ago

Fun Fact, The First Phase Was Based Off Of The Googly Fun Sonic Handheld From The 90s
The Second Phase Was From A Plug n' Play Made By The Same Company,
And The Third Phase Was From The Take n' Go TV Also By Googly Fun,
Damn I Love These References

So this is pretty much sonic being able to practically warp the time,space,gravity,speed,function AND overall look of his world by either collecting rings,losing them or hitting certain enemies and bosses.
