Should I rank his Modern machines as well? (Though they are "Classic titles" Sonic Mania and Superstars would be in that video)

Eggman with the Antlion Mecha is like:
I RATHER DIE THAN LETTING YOU DIE FROM YOUR OWN STUPIDITY!

I didn't realize that Eggman's face grew dark from anger. All of this time I thought that was his cartoonishly burnt face.

Another plus for Big Arms is that Eggman can catch you, even if you are Super Sonic. You can’t breeze through Big Arms using SS like you can with the other Mechas.

All of the machines from Sonic 1 are utility first, war second.

In Sonic 2, it is about half.

In Sonic 3 and Knuckles, all war machines with secondary utility.

0:40 everyone knows Scratch and Grounder would be +S tier

The classic machines really shows how much eggman underestimates sonic at first compared to later mechs having lasers, missiles, so many spikes and what not can't wait for the modern vid

Fun fact The Egg Mobile is a reference to Mazinger Z Pilder a machine that connects to a bigger robot Mazinger Z itself just like The Egg Mobile can connects to other bigger machines

i'm surprised no one realize the egg crusher is nothing but an abstract piston engine, with the lightning balls coming down between each stroke being the spark plugs . This is why only 2 cylinders come down each time.

10:41 I still think he's getting burnt, just kind of in a cartoony way. Considering his machine's literally EXPLODING, I think that's what it's supposed to convey.

19:41 after years of facing Sonic and pitting his ego against that of his nemesis, Eggman is absolutely NOT going to let that hedgehog just die to a pit of lava. If he's going to die, its going to be on EGGMAN'S terms. "I could ~~carpet bomb~~ drop him into lava any day, but thats not enough! Thats not the point!"

I think the reason why Eggman saves Sonic here is the same reason why he doesn't take shit from other villains.
He wants to defeat Sonic on his own terms. If he wanted to kill him he could do that at any time. Even in this early in the series, Eggman already sees a worthy rival in him, but is still underestimating his power.

31:32 It's definitely Eggman's pride. Like he says in the IDW comics, "I could carpet bomb him any day! That's enough–that's not the point! I have to BEAT him! I have to prove I'm superior!"

Eggman was likely on a limited budget during Sonic CD his machines can’t even stand 3 hits 😭

@jamesliu8095 3 months ago

I think eggman saving sonic just to throw him at the antlion really fits his ideology of proving his superiority. It's not a victory unless eggman is directly responsible and has achieved it in a unique and personal way. He's mentioned before that he could just carpet bomb sonic but that would be cheap.

12:52 I'm surprised you left out Big Arm is the only boss in the franchise that can unsuper Super Sonic. But yeah, Big Arms boss was always my favorite.

It feels obvious in high definition, but I definitely thought Eggman had soot all over his face when his machines exploded. I never realized it was more red than black, and I thought it was like Wile E. Coyote when his own ACME contraptions exploded in his face.
