□ Thanks to everyone that suggested this one! I loved it!!! :_btgTails::_btgTails::_btgTails:

It's cool to see people still playing this demo even in 2022. I can't say when we'll have a new demo, but we're still working on the game slowly. Many of our key contributors have been busy with things outside the project so progress has been slow, but we're still making progress little by little.

I wouldn't hold out too much hope for this project to be completed, sadly.  Development has been off and on for many years.  it's a great idea and looks fantastic!  But it's a volunteer project and at one point the project died and they had to basically start over.  Now if Sega would have thrown it's support behind it and done something like this for all the classic games instead of Sonic Origins, it would have been incredible!  Can you imagine a HD version of all the classics in this visual style?

For a fan game this looks insane. Now all we need is some HD Sunky and we are all future proofed.

There was a brief moment a few years ago when I would listen to Sonic 2 HD's remastered tracks on loop nonstop. This fan game is definitely one of my personal favourites.

The shading taken into this game is also really cool. Sonic and Tails will appear darker when in caves, or redder close to lava.

This was freakin awesome!   its everything you'd expect an HD remake of this game to be,  great job by the devs.

That was genuinly beautiful. It looks like promotional artwork not what would actually be playable. Wow!

Ok, I've seen quite a few games converted to HD with, let's say, "unfortunate" changes on the graphics, but this definitely sticks to the original! This is sooo neat!!

It looks so good that it gos from sonic with a completely new level complete animation to the leaves moving in the wind, i also love how they connected the acts thats amazing

I'm genuinely surprised that Darby has never realized that the "water" in Chemical Plant are, well, CHEMICALS.
I don't think that S2HD is actually still being worked on, but the small details are amazing.

-Anything gets slightly red when near lava
-Sonic and Tails get slightly darker when in caves
-Robotnik's machine in Emerald Hill gets visibly damaged when at 7/8 hits
-And Robotnik's glasses get cracked once defeated.

I loved this. Sonic two has always been my favourite. so many memories. Thank you for showing me this, looks sweet. The colour, music and looking so cool in HD, is wow, Tails spinn'in his tail at the extra cool.  i cant believe this is a fan game. . I am lovin all this Sonic love, thanks to the movie. it would be cool if the released all the early Sonic games like this. Thank you  BTG for the smiles.

The fact that they look like the cover photo is amazing

fun fact: the intro in sonic hd version is the prototype version for sonic 2s intro!

i bet you already knew that ;-;

To think many discovered Tee Lopes in the old version of this project. Who would thought he would be composing for an official Sonic game many years later.

I remember watching some of my favorite YouTubers playing this 4 years ago it's cool and the soundtracks are bangers

That is quality! This person did a really good job on making Sonic 2 look brand new!

The game is still in development, the next big steps we know so far are the Special Stages and the Aquatic Ruins

For those that don't know, some of the people that worked on Sonic Mania worked on this fangame (Tee Lopes with the music, Tom Fry, and Jared Kasl from Pagodawestgames)

I just did a Hilltop themed Minecraft build for my channel, so seeing that particular zone reimagined in HD was really neat.  I really liked the look of this demo.  Hopefully they can add onto it in the future.  Maybe someday I’ll actually beat Sonic 2.  I always get stuck on Wing Fortress Zone if I even make it that far.
