Broadhembury - The Village That Time Forgot
#englishcountryside #englishvillage #villagewalktour #thatchedroof #devon
Hidden deep within the Devon countryside lies a village completely untouched by the modern world. This is Broadhembury with no modern shopfronts and almost every cottage over 400 years old. The village has been strictly preserved as part of a country estate under the stewardship of the Drewe family. St. Andrew's Church is Grade 1 listed and the site that it stands on was consecrated in 1259. But looming above the village is a prehistoric stronghold from which the village has taken its name - Hembury Hillfort. This is the largest earthwork defence in Devon and is spectacular Iron Age monument. Join us on this walk as we journey back in time from 400 year old thatched cottages to a place where Neolithic farmers lived nearly 6000 years ago.

ABOUT MY CHANNEL
Welcome to 'Walking With Pearl The Collie'.
Join me as I explore Great Britain on foot with my two border collies, Pearl and Flo. Maybe the walks will inspire you to get out and about - the British countryside is a very beautiful and unique place. If you're not able to access it, for whatever reason, then hopefully these walks will give you some 'virtual' enjoyment.
