What Really Happened to Dick & Angel Strawbridge From Escape To The Chateau

Dick Strawbridge and Angel Strawbridge have built a remarkable television legacy, but their journey began long before audiences knew them from Escape to the Chateau. Dick first became widely recognized through shows such as Scrapheap Challenge—known in the U.S. as Junkyard Wars—where his engineering knowledge and larger-than-life personality made him a memorable figure. After meeting Angel, the couple embarked on their extraordinary French château adventure, transforming the neglected Château de la Motte-Husson into their family home and a thriving business. Their original Escape to the Chateau journey ended in 2022, followed by a period away from filming and a highly publicized split with Channel 4. However, the story did not end there: the official Strawbridge website now confirms that Escape to the Chateau has returned for a tenth series, with the family entering a new chapter as their children grow older. This video looks back at Dick and Angel’s unusual journey, the challenges behind their television career, their life at the château, and what really happened after fans thought their on-screen story was over.
