My egg cracked fairly recently (October last year) and I swear, this entire time I've felt kinda fake compared to other trans women since I've never shown any visible signs of being trans until I started questioning it. How I discovered it doesn't seem as legitimate as others ig. I discovered it through a vid on r/egg_irl being way too relatable, starting to question my gender, and then finding out thar being a woman just felt like it would be better for me.

Growing up, I never experimented with my look, never wanted to look feminine, and never had a problem with being a boy. The one thing that I never truly understood before fidning out I was trans was my deep want to be a girl.

I hate that when I tell someone that I'm trans, their immediate question is "how did you find out?" cause I'm embarrassed to tell the story in fear of them thinking I'm faking it or belittling my being trans.

As of now, all the things that I never did regarding my gender, I now want to do so badly, but haven't done yet. I want to lose a ton of weight first so I don't hate the way the real me looks.

My dream of being an Attack Helicopter was dashed when I understood I was just Trans. I coped by buying nice shoes. Life is good.

I’m a masters student currently designing research on improving attitudes towards trans and non-binary people. It’s really great to hear these stories, it’s all so varied and valuable to not only my work, but the wider communities. It really makes me reflect on my own experiences with femininity and masculinity. Thanks for sharing!

I am one of those people that didnt knew until later in life. My egg cracked 3 months ago at the age of 37. I didnt even think about it before. I always knew i was different but i could never pinpoint why.

I didnt have any trans representation in my life until my thirties. After i learned about the existance of trans people i was kinda fascinated and drawn to them. But i never thought i could be trans myself.

Last year i finally noticed and after working through a lot of repressed feelings i should have seen it coming 🙃.  

Coming to terms and accepting myself as trans was very impactful tho. I really enjoy exploring my gender identity and allowing myself to express it. I feel so much more at peace with myself. I am gonna start HRT next month. Lets see where to will get me.

It's so nice hearing other people's stories!

As for me, my friend and I were in a call and she just started to call me more feminine things and seeing how i was reacting to it and it was making me happy and making me smile. she took notice and was able to "hear" me smile and then started asking me some questions, this all happened like 2 years ago. More recently she's been telling me that i should give a place to call and ask about starting HRT, which does sound like an amazing thing to do!... but for whatever reason t get nervous and scared... i feel like i shouldn't get scared but i can't help it, i just overthink things and i know that i shouldn't, i shouldn't care... right now i'm 28 and recently i'm just thinking.. am i too old now? would starting this be too late? and living in the US with everything going on i'm even more so thinking about it being too late because what if this stuff just goes away altogether and at the end of the day i just waited too long...

I can feel a lot of this as a trans woman myself... But a much older one. I didn't know what being trans was or was even an option for so very long. My entire identity online was even a woman for over a decade and I still couldn't tell...

Part of going through life is knowing yourself

I watched 1 video about trans awakening and now this is like the 8th one I came across in 2 minutes, I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, ABSOLUTELY NOT, it’s just that YouTube moderation goes kinda nuts sometimes

I've known to some degree that I'm probably trans for... two years now?
But I still haven't started transitioning because I'm scared of how people might react if I came out. I do want to transition eventually but you know how it is. I'm not exactly putting any effort into appearing cis either.

Tnx for the share. I would never actually ask. I love getting other people's perspectives. I know I don't think like other folks much so it can be a challenge sometimes for me to know if I know what they are thinking. You know? lol

Really only you can say if you are an egg. If someone tells you that you are it could cause issues in your development and self discovery. This is why we don't crack another's egg they must do it themselves.
