Nobody talks much about this sketchbook, but the graduate mixed media in 200g from Canson is fantastic for watercolor sketches and paintings.
It feels like good watercolor paper, but so cheap. An A5 is about 8-9 euro. And I used to buy 100%cotton that was 3 times the price...
It's a thousand times better than the royal talens as well, which I personally never really liked. They're ok for doodles and notes, but for painting with watercolors I find the Talens too frustrating. I still use them as a regular idea sketchbook, but for more elaborate watercolor studies, the canson graduate is a great very affordable one :)

I second the fountain pens, I have a couple of platinum preppy pens for different inks and I love writing and drawing with them. It's incredible how good they are.

The great thing about the Platinum Preppy is that it works with the Platinum Carbon Black cartridges. That’s the ink that I use in most of my fountain pens anyway, and cartridges are clean and easy to refill.

I have the Pentel water brushes and they are 100% as you stated - if you have these, you don't need any other. I previously used Arteza's but they leaked water ALL the time. One day, I got so frustrated, I interrupted my project mid-stream, went on Amazon and ordered the Pentel. Turned out to be a great decision! And also thank you so much for giving the Meeden gouache a shout out! I bought the 48 set for $23 - truly a price that cannot be beat, particularly considering the excellent quality!❤

I like Mr. Pen products. They don't have sketch books or paint. They are more focused on pens of different types and colors. They even have an inexpensive fountain pen, but I have not tried it.

I prefer to use transparent colors when i need to mix my own, but the non-transparent is good for premixed colors. Great video! ❤

Thanks! My favourite budget set is the van Gogh 15 half pan set, available for less than 18€ and the Holbein Gouache starter set of 5x 15ml (19€ at Jackson's). While can Gogh is student grade and Holbein is professional grade, both come at a reasonable price and last a long time. I ❤ those Royal Talents sketchbooks, great tip.

I just purchased the Woomer watercolors because so many people have posted videos about how fantastic they are. I am so amazed at the quality! The pigments are so rich. I have never had such an inexpensive product cause me to say out loud, "Wow"!
I really appreciate your list of products and experience with them.....Thank you!

I tried out Woomer when they sent me their tiny pocket watercolor set…. Omg! I fell in love! It’s a nine color set and I find myself grabbing it all time, more than some of my expensive watercolors. The transparency is fantastic compared to some cheap sets and they are using really good pigments in their formulas. I see my tiny set has colors not included in the bigger set… the little set has a granulating lilac that is FANTASTIC!!!
So…. now I need this big set but I haven’t seen it yet so gonna go on the hunt!

I am a fountain pen nut. I have dozens and dozens, but I love the Preppy. They sat in my drawer for over a year and worked right away. I got every color, because I neeeeeded them.
