Alternate title: "Is the best 2d Platformer of all time Actually Good?"

"Is grass green ?" Aah 💔🥀

Donkey Kong country returns on the Wii is legendary.

Ah yes, "Is [The game that is the most often regarded as the best 2D "pure" platformer] Actually Good?", what a title eh.

I wish the game would get some switch 2 enhancements. Just a simple resolution boost would be nice, and shouldn't be too hard to implement.

As it is, the only thing the switch 2 does is reduce the already fine loading times.

I remember playing this game for the first time and being in disbelief at how good it was. The best Donkey Kong and 2D platformer ever.

‘Yes’ did this 21 minute video in 1 second

This is the best game ever made and there is no debate. The gameplay is genius, the music is incredible, the controls are perfect.. it has it all!

1:03 It is basically DKC Returns 2. And that's a great thing. People forget how DKCR already was one of the best 2D platformers ever because DKCTF outshines it by being THE best.
(Also, a big reason why the last world of TF is peak, is because it is a sequel to what Returns established about this rebooted Kong Island, so yeah, really great that it's a sequel.)

In 2014 this game made New Super Mario Bros U look like Yoshi’s New Island

As a longtime fan of the DK franchise, I was waiting on a new DKC game after Returns. I played the 3DS version of that game and I liked it, but soon forgot about its levels and music, I guess it pandered too much to nostalgia and references to the first Country game for my tastes, but man... Tropical Freeze destroyed me. The amount of detail in every single level, movement, placement, the camera movement, the immaculate OST, the colorful environments. It's a game I always come back to when I'm in need of fun and a dosis of serotonin. To me, it's the best DK game ever and probably the best platformer.

Oh and a fact that put TF miles ahead of the Wii game is that you get to play as solo Diddy and Dixie in hard mode. As well as Cranky's introduction as a solo playable kong.

They did DK so dirty in the Thumbnail 🥀

the craziest thing is monkeys don't like swimming 😂

Just got this today from a trade in, it's fun but I wish you could throw Diddy like in the SNES version. It's got some really cool and fun features tho I'm liking it

The answer is yes. It is good. But, I wish it had at least two more worlds in between Juicy Jungle and Donkey Kong Island. Like maybe a world based on Australia’s outback and a world that is a modern city. They would be called “Rocky Outback” and “Swinging City.” And the bosses of those worlds would be a kangaroo and a maybe a lion. That would’ve made the game longer. But, my favorite world in the game will always be Autumn Heights. It looked like Canada out there. I also loved the Sawmill Thrill level where it looked like you were floating through lakes in Ontario. I give this game a 10/10.

I was playing against the final boss of tropical freeze when I found out that my brother killed himself. Rest in peace Nathan

DK: Tropical Freeze was literally my childhood. I was at least 5 when I started playing Skylanders Giants and Tropical Freeze, and I loved Giants, but Tropical Freeze stuck out more. I still play it to this day (Mainly to beat up the bosses) and have 5 whole pages of lore. If anyone wants me to share it, please tell me.

It’s definitely one of the best games in the series. The graphics are incredible and it has that overall difficulty that all the DKC platform games have. The only complaint I have is that it should’ve been longer. Tropical Freeze is a true gem. 😊

Hands down one of my favorite games of the 2010's along with Pokémon Gens 5 through 7, SM3DW, Fantasy Life (3DS), Yokai Watch, & MK8(Deluxe)

This game is so good, and I also have so much nostaliga with it. The bosses, the worlds, the levels, everything in this game is so good and well-made. Even though I don't remember which part of the game I REALLY got stuck on, the parts that I didn't get stuck on AND the parts I got stuck on were so fun. So, yes, I think too that this game is an absolute masterpiece.
