A beta64? For a game that practically just came out?! 😮

i really like the "you must add cranky kong in there because i likes him : )" me if i was a game dev i fear. also its crazy just HOW MUCH they got done in 2020 alone

"They knew DK could only have one motivation: Bananas!"

Don't Forget: This team started with DK Jungle Beat before making 3D Mario games. So, technically this is going back to their home roots. It is sort of poetic making a full circle like this.

And this isn’t even ALL of the beta elements. We still need that art book similar to Mario Odyssey.

About DK design, I recently rewatched an old video of some guys playing punch out wii, and when they were fighting DK one said: “He has more personality here than in his games” which really has to tell you something

40:33 Never forget that the nintendo korean website also accidentally revealed the new Rainbow Road of Mario Kart World before it even came out along with the new Bowser Castle.

I still can't get over how gorgeous this game is

Shame that we seemingly have no dev info on how King K. Rool got into this game.

2:57 Never expected Beta64 to mention Minecraft of all things, especially when he mostly talks about Nintendo development

So, my takeaway is: they never intended to ever explain why she was suddenly a child... And it is absolutely hilarious how you discuss "Continuity" right after...

love the modern beta64 content

"They never wanted the player to feel bad for destroying something. So every character needed to spin your destruction as a positive fun thing."

Every edgy parody animator on YouTube: "Are you sure about that?"

@bastel_art 6 months ago

I'm surprised there's nearly 40 minutes of dev history for a game that we can't even datamine yet

I like the thought of being a Nintendo employee, getting ready for work, taking a seat on your desk and someone slamming the door open and saying
"GUYS LOOK ZEBRA DONKEY KONG"

@djkong2309 6 months ago (edited)

31:12 This is reflected when you see K Rool as not only does he reintroduce himself, Pauline helps clear it up a bit more

@Goomba1309 6 months ago (edited)

4:06 Not gonna lie, a standalone platform game where you play as a Goomba would genuinely be incredibly sick. Maybe something akin to the Magolor Epilogue from the Switch version of Kirby Return to Dreamland?
