Hooks family walked out of the premiere because he was portrayed as a drunk and a shirker which he wasn’t.

Thank you to Stanley Bakers wife for making the film.

This is the film I’m hoping gets the 4k treatment soon. I’m surprised it hasn’t already.

My Dad took my Mum to be to see it on a date and the story goes that at the end she asked my Dad how the bullets came out of the rifles with those knives stuck in the end, he couldn't stop laughing. It's a story that got told every time we sat down to watch it. Miss you Mum and Dad.

I think one of the best war films of all time no cgi no special effects no nothing of that just real raw acting and filming

My father was in South Africa during WW2 and they were invited to see the Zulu Kraal and saw the dancing. He never forgot it, he said the ground shook under the barefoot stamping.

Having been to Rourkes Drift and Islandhwana, because of the film, I can confirm the whole area is hauntingly serene .

I thought Nigel Green stole the show. Saying that there were so many excellent performances.

We were robbed of thirty odd years of Stanley Baker in the movies and that frankly breaks my heart. What a fella!

For me, the stand-out from this film is the Zulu chanting. Gives me goose pimples every time.

I believe it was Baker’s wife in another video who said many years later that when she sees it on TV even though she doesn’t plan on watching it once again, she can’t help herself and watches it all the way through. That exactly how I feel, I can’t watch this anymore, but once it starts I can’t turn it off, I’m hooked once again.

My Dad always put Zulu on when it got the usual airing on TV during Christmas. Watching Zulu as a kid in the 1970s, I didn't appreciate the epic's brilliance. As an adult, I certainly appreciate the scale of the scenery, the big sky and mountains. I believe the film captures the horrors faced by all sides when non-fighting administrators and politicians become hell-bent on making a name for themselves. Zulu was pure brilliant movie-making.
