'Ipcress File' is just brilliant. Everything works in it, and it is on the UK's top 100 films of all time deservedly so.

He's so good to listen to, entertaining and witty of course but also grounded with a big chunk of humility - I always like people like that.

As a sixties child, The Ipcress File gives me nostalgia overload 😉

The Ipcress File is a masterpiece

Michael Caine is one humble and down to earth actor. The Ipcress File is great, Harry Palmer does come across as a blue-collar anti-hero but hearing Caine laugh about the glasses and comparisons to Harold Lloyd was quite funny, I love Lloyd's "Glasses" character but never thought about comparing the two, what an unconventional crossover that would make. It suits them both, at the end of the day.
Kudos to them all for making the script work, regardless of what the various cast/crew thought of it. I personally like the dialogue in the film. And the cooking scene is a good addition to Harry Palmer's character, so I'm glad that was kept in.
Even more credit to Michael Caine that he could add different nuances to his characters even within the confines of what could be called thrillers, as it's a night and day difference between his Harry Palmer and his ruthless gangster character, Jack Carter, later on in Get Carter (1971).
Seeing Michael wax philosophical about acting and fame off-screen that early in his career makes me realize he's always been the same way and never let any of his success affect his real life humble background. Very impressive for one of the most iconic and accomplished actors in film history.
Thanks for the behind the scenes!

I love the Ipcress File, the cast, the tone, the camera angles have been criticized over the years but,to me,they give the film a Cold War feel as if you,re watching something clandestine!

World Class Actor ! ! !

Great film, great actor and of course, Len Deighton, great author of great spy books.

Brilliant - absolutely brilliant. A total pro talking like he was in the pub on your table. That's how you do it!

For decades there was no decent release of the magnificent Italian Job. Finally came the 40th anniversay bluray. I was in heaven. Same thing with Zulu.

Love this little snippet

A British 🇬🇧 diamond . . . he's lived his life brilliantly. Knows what makes him happy.

Great story teller. As a kid I grew up with the early Bond movies, then I found out about the Palmer movies. I liked Peter Sellers impersonation of him, "did you know (?)  it takes a man dressed in a tweed suit five seconds to fall from the top of Big Ben before he hits the ground. Not many people know that."

Thank God for Michael Caine, so many great movies only he could have starred in 💚

Interestingly - Ipcress File was shot on 2 Perf - which was a popular format for films like Fistful of Dollars - It naturally gives a wide wide image - without using anamorphic lenses - and is good for close ups - Of course there are many elements that make this film a thing of beauty - The music for one!!!!

A fabulous jobbing actor….The Ipcress File is still ace today.  Old fashioned real film used; excellent colour saturation.
The clothing is all bespoke tailored too; real clothes.

I've never seen this one, but I clicked on since he's one of my favorite actors. I remember the first time I saw 'Alfie' on TV and was blown away by Caine and the technique of him addressing the audience. He's been a favorite since then, and I'll click on anything with him just to hear his voice and that je ne sais quai aura he projects. I'll remember this title in case I run into it.

You can count on Michael Caine in any role, but for me his best performance, bar none, was in Hannah and Her Sisters.  Well deserved Oscar.

Awwww, Michael Caine 🥰

Thank you! Michael Caine - My #1 favorite actor. Get Carter (1971) is my top Caine movie. Ipcress is my #2. Michael has the best stories and a wonderful life philosophy.
