The reason i play is simple.
1. Good story.
2. The last game i played with the same level and care for detail and worldbuilding was Halo 2.
3. The music makes the game.

I don't understand how the gooner label is a negative. If a game ONLY offers sexualized fanservice it won't garner a true fanbase but fanservice combined with a fun solid experience is a net-positive

I think the charm of ZZZ is overlooked sometimes - I just adore many of the characters and several maps within the game

One thing i do love about zenless is its world building and the hidden horrors of New Eridu. The Harumasa story definitely had RE vibes with the whole experimentation aspect as well as the new labyrinth mode having you feel like prey at certain moments.

I am addicted to this game. I love the fan service, and it's what brought me to the game. I love the story and plot and attention to details. And the dark and serious tone to the story to. This being said some of the stuff is clearly meant for a certain audience, and I am one of those audiences. If they ever stopped doing the fan service I wouldn't stop playing but I would not enjoy it as much.
Also great video. Should do more very much enjoyed the entire thing.

The thing you mentioned with Xenoblade 2 was my experience with the game, I loved 1, but hated 2 when it came out. My gaming tastes and experiences (as well as general media literacy) have evolved a lot since then, and I went back to it very recently with the new update. I really like it now (and also I think ZZZ desensitized me to the gooner-ish stuff in the game lmao)

My main reason for start playing ZZZ was the Art. As an Artist I couldn't be happier to feast on so many amazing Art styles, the Character Designs, the Animations and the Music!!!
Aside from this I fucking love the combat, gameplay loop and quality of life. Also the devs that are listing to the feedback. It's insane

Overall: Yes but not to an extent.

Sure we get an up close shot of Zhu Yuan running with Qingyi, an animation of Ramielle dancing with the Proxies, jiggle physics, swapping clothes that you see on YouTube videos for gooners (they even maximize and exaggerates Belle’s body)… and why is their glutes always in front of the camera during demos or teasers (even both Sigrid and Zhu Yuan was in that position)😂? They deliberately had Yanagi accidentally loosing her foot from her heel and she just had to bend down, lift her leg all the way behind her till that foot is to her skirt.

I mean, it’s a Gacha game, it’s gonna give fanservice regardless 😒. And the fan base plays a role where it makes it obvious. Wait till Eldreda Sunbringer begin having feelings for Wise (or Belle) since he is the MC. Even Sigrid goes on a date during the interactions, Astra Yao in her teaser, Vivian getting close, Miyabi as the fiancé, Ye Shungguang had her feelings exposed by her “other half”, Qingyi being a wingswoman for convincing Zhu Yuan to go out with the Proxy, Promeia whispering “Proxie” in the shower… Yeah… I’m seeing a pattern.

Well, although this is strange, but the thing that makes me really, really like this game is the quality of the VA
Honestly, they did a good job making normal interactions feel natural, characters that are so much more lively and funny too (Cissia, Billy, and lots more). Gotta give the ZZZ devs some credit for finding excellent VA for every characters in the game!
(And yeah the fan service is also part of what I like about ZZZ too :vv )

I originally heard about this game from a Scottfalco video, and I decided to try the game out. Mostly because I heard PARRY mechanics, and at the time I was invested with ToTK parries. So i was sold…

The combat is peak. I especially love when for example in the dead end butcher fight, if you defensive parry multiple attack the screen gets static? Or something. But the sound is Invigorating
