The more i think about it, Captain Yidhari would have been perfect!

Honestly for me it went from "yo that outfit looks really clean and cool" to "Where yo pants at?"

Zhu Yuan is honestly an anomaly. Design is plain, Occupation is just a cop. There is no Anime style sad backstory. She's literally the most realistic character set in the world where borderline magic exists. If she was physical rather than Ether Zhu Yuan would literally be just a human.

We need to do a commission to hunt down the serial pants stealer.

MY BIGGEST ISSUE is the fact that they're straying away with their Zenless aesthetic lately.

I want long skirts back into character's designs. It is something so incredibly rare to see in these games and when I saw it in Miyabi and the woman from Victoria Domestic Services (srry forgot the name) I just ascended

Yi Xuan looks like her clothes were in the laundry, so she borrowed Ju Fufu’s shorts.

Manatos design is honestly insanely fantastic for an A rank. He completely matches the “fantasy” of his design while having incredible depth hidden behind it which plays into his design and character again. He IS the rough and tough guy who will fit wildly tooth and nail. But he plays into the rough and tough facade to protect others. His arm bandages showing that he’s a bit reckless and neglectful of himself which is exactly what he is

If you re-look at yidhari’s parents in her story, they actually have the splatoon style hair being their hair has tentacles and suction cups

I enjoy this video, especially the "you can do both, a fanservice design that is well made and well thought out" because fanservice and depth aren't necessarily devoid of each other

If Lucia wore a larger version of Lil' Lucia's dress, she would've matched Spook Shack's "meddling high school kids" theme

29:31 not only that Arlecchino in genshin and Kafka in hsr are also covered from head to toe and people drool over them 😂

Hoyo chasing appeal is killing their designs.

There's a reason why "Less is more," and "Too much of a good thing, is bad," is a saying

ngl i feel like every character having things like "mice" and "stab" on their clothes is basically the same thing as white people getting chinese character tattoos cause they look cool. forgivable quirk but it always strikes me as funny how blunt the words are.

It would have been so simple to actually give spook shack a cohesive theme as a faction. Alice the prim and proper student, Yuzuha the laid back cheeky student, Manato the scary looking soft delinquent, and for Lucia the quirky occult nerd and Yidhari the senior in a Japanese SAILOR uniform. Would have been perfect, spook shack would literally be like their own school club kind of thing.

And I don’t even know where to begin with the summit trio as well as the upcoming characters. How the Chinese company mess up the explicitly Chinese characters is beyond me. The new void hunter is literally just in a Chinese dress with nothing modern or urban about it.

Section 6 is the perfect example of simple on the surface but so full of thought and effort. The special forces are all overworked office workers because that’s their job in this world is genius.

The Pompey design is so damn good. I like Lighter too because of the red scarf and golden gauntlet/Knuckle Duster.

Yidhari was Lovecraft horror inspired, she could also wear some gothic outfits

I mean what kinda made they recent designs, aside from Alice, Yuzuha, and Manato , look bad is mostly because of their plausibility. ZZZ gives off the idea that it’s set in a low retro futuristic with a mix of mostly modern/present time.the 1.x characters clothing feels like you can see people actually style and wear this clothing, i think this is where 2.x tend to fall short on a bit.

I wish you analyzed Anby's original design versus her soldier design because I think it's the best example of when the design philosophy started to shift. To me, Anby's original design looks more combat ready (from the metal on her puffy sleeves, the generator on her backpack, and the sheathe of her sword) then her actual soldier design (which just looks like a dress and doesn't even have sheaths for her two swords). The removal of the generator also makes soldier Anby feel more disconnected from her electricity element.
