Skinny has never gone away, especially living in East Asia. Even in the west, the whole curvy and plus size, still leant on the illusions of skinny - basically having big boobs and butts on a skinny frame, and no double chins, small faces and so on.

I'm so tired...I feel so much older than I actually am seeing all these body trends coming back around. But also I'm old enough to not really care about them as much. I feel so bad for the younger and impressionable kids, it's not like the world isn't already a shithole for them.

Skinny era never ended. Some things were adjusted for some time, but now they're back as they were.
100% all celebs and body positivity ambassadors WILL go on ozempic and become skinny. No doubt.

I remember when I was at my lowest weight in highschool. I got so many compliments and recently as a woman in my 20s, I had someone ask me "Why'd you let yourself go?" I'm very blunt and speak before I think sometimes and I left them shook because I said "Because I wasn't eating when I was a kid." And it's true. I came from a poor household. If I wanted my siblings and my sick mom to eat, I had to skip breakfast and dinner. All my food I got was from the free lunch program. I also passed out A LOT. Even at that smallest weight, I felt like I was too fat thanks to the 2014 tumblr girl thinspo stuff that was floating around.

Edited to add: I also haven't "let myself go." I'm a normal body weight. I'm actually considered underweight for being postpartum, but that was because of medical complications during pregnancy that could've killed me.

9:26 lip filler turns out to not be temporary actually!! Stephanie Lange on youtube has talked about how the filler doesn't go away fully, but it travels to different parts of your body and face which is why a lot of celebrities faces look a little weird or even old.

In high school i got made fun of for having a butt, then suddenly i was told "I'm jealous of your butt" now its back to "you have a butt so youre fat" make it make sense NK 😭😭😭

I think that the rise in popularity of Kpop has had a huge influence on the public turning back to the skinny ideal as well. anyone who is aware of the Kpop industry knows that being skinny Is one of the biggest beauty standards in Kpop, and curvy figures haven't always been praised in South Korea.

As a young woman, these beauty standards are detrimental. One day we need to be skinny to the point people assume we’re on drugs, and the next day we need to have the bbl body with impossible curves. Beauty standards will always be unachievable. They’re pushed by celebrities who have thousands of dollars to throw away, just to stay relevant. It’s exhausting.

What I found worst when I was a teen (I’m 20 now) was how much pressure there was to look like what guys like. There’s a corn star they’re all talking about? A rapper? An actress? They’re arguing over which is best, doing smash/pass on random students walking by? I for one felt pressure to look appealing - else I would be “ugly” “not it” “mid”. Girls would be chatting about personality - cuz when you have so many teen boys talking only about body, our standard is lowered to “see me as a person first, then a hot chick”. I hate the patriarchy.

i love being a woman, i wouldn't trade it for anything
but all this hate comming from men, putting woman against each other, being seen as bodies, useless, wasted, onlyfanns material...
I know there are good men, they're not all mean, and generosity and kindness will always exist, but I can't help to feel hopeless and afraid
