The asbestos in hair dryers reminds me of the problems with talc. Talc is mined and unfortunately, it often coexists with deposits of asbestos. And that's why talcum powder is no longer in baby powder. The problem that still exists is that talc is still in cosmetics like loose and pressed powder. Google the ingredients of makeup brands before you buy it.
OMG, I still own a "Clairol Son of a Gun" blow dryer that I got in 1975. It still works, though I haven't blow dried my hair in ages. Google says it definitely has asbestos in it. Yikes!
