I've been spotting a lot more toxicity and arguing between people in this video's comment section than normally. Which I suppose is expected considering the sharper video topic, but please remember to keep a respectful tone when discussing your opinions of the game, somebody simply praising/disliking the game isn't gonna cause your family to get evicted from your home. With that said, happy early new year!

Loved this. I’ve heard so many bad things about mkw the last couple of months but since getting it for Christmas I’ve done nothing but play it, it’s so good. Thank you for defending this amazing game

2:26 Positivity being on YouTube not being lumped in with toxic positivity is a breath of fresh air in general…

1:11 I mean we call them grifters for a reason

It’s crazy to think that if they priced this game at just $10 lower, everyone would love it. But they just had to price it above industry standard smh

Edit: can we stop fighting in the replies and just let people enjoy the games they like?

Really hope they add options to do 3 laps around track varients (ex: 3 laps on mushroom cup crown city, reverse varients)
Also a timer toggle for battle. I like the battle mode in this game, but I definetly feel that the short timer clashes with the larger nature of the battle maps (the forced 50cc also clashes with it). As for the map design: I overall like it. A bit to much off offroad, but the density makes them feel like FPS maps (in a good way)

My 2 absolute favorite aspects of MKW are these:

1. The soundtrack. It's currently my favorite video game soundtrack of all time. It's incredibly diverse, and somehow both simultaneously quality and quantity.

2. The wall riding and grinding mechanics. There's so much potential of how you can approach almost every track now. It makes the replay value of MKW almost limitless in my eyes.

I think free roam would have been a lot better if it was like island flyover from Wii sports resort, where you get given information about different features of the island. Would add so much depth to the free roam, which to me (as someone who only plays 3 laps in lounge or the discord) feels a bit empty and generic.

Mario kart world may not be my favorite in the series, but I do think the hate is a bit overblown, the tracks are phenomenal, the soundtrack is amazing and the amount of shortcuts you can do is insane, it's not perfect but I do hold a lot of respect for it and I'm really excited for the future of this game

One thing I like about Free Roam is that I can do things that i cant do anywhere else: waiting on the busses, trucks and trains to see where they take me was always cute and funny. flying with ufos to mountains I wouldnt be able to reach without, and just goofing around, its FREE Roam, its a fun thing to do when bored from racing/battling

Very refreshing video, I am at 275 hours played on Mario Kart World, having bought the bundle at launch, and I've loved every second of it.

I bought 60-70$ games that I played for less than 20 hours that I will most likely never touch again, so having paid 50$ for Mario Kart World with the bundle, that's a good run for my money (I would have paid 80$ if no bundle, no problem).

The only thing missing in this game for me it's a 3 lap course mode only for online.

Other than that, I love this game and it's top 3 tier for me in the franchise, along with MK64 and MKWii. ❤

7:48 I caught that dream team reference

Super Mario flash mention!!! That was the very first game I ever played haha.

I recently started playing Mario Kart World and overall, it's really fun! But, I do think that they should lower the price of the game.

0:27 Say "Shy Guy" if these you made levels with these flash games before Super Mario Maker even existed.

Battle Mode is the one thing in this game I actually get upset over.  Every other problem, I'm like, "Oh that kinda sucks it's like that..."  But Battle Mode... I just can't let it go.
Would it have been that hard to add some extra battle tracks in this game that were designed to be battle tracks?  Are you telling that nobody... NOBODY on the development team was like, "Hm, maybe we should add N64 Skyscraper to Crown City"?  And hey, Desert Hills is an oasis, that would've been a perfect spot to put, say, GBA Battle Course 4 on the map.  And you know that whole entire area they made just for an SNES Vanilla Lake tribute?  Well, maybe that could've been replaced with something that can actually be played on like SNES Battle Course 3 or 3DS Sherbet Rink.  (Seriously, why did they carve out this entire custom area just for an SNES tribute?)  Heck, there are THREE dessert-themed battle courses in the Mario Kart series (GCN Cookie Land, DS Tart Top, SW Sweet Sweet Kingdom) and an entire dessert area in World that would've been perfect for said courses, yet they chose to add none of them.  This is not even mentioning the potential for new battle courses, like a treetop village in Acorn Heights that has you utilize the parkour mechanics to get from house to house, or a construction site in Crown City/Wario Stadium/Toad's Factory where you can climb up scaffolding and grind on girders, or even a playground near Peach Stadium's town with slides, forts, poles, tubes, and the like for you to traverse.
