They had more of a hegemony than an empire, similar to the early Greek.
A bunch of city-states an minor kings that would band together under the lead of one city-state when needed, but otherwise had no centralized government that ruled all of the city-states.

The oblivion remaster is a massive problem...
I have barely been sleeping and I have work every day.

Aylied lore is so interesting. It's one of my favorite parts of the lore.

Pelinal killed so many Alyeids at one point that their blood dyed his hair brown WHILE he was wearing his helmet.

So glad the new remaster is giving ES channels like yours the much needed boost you deserve after all these years waiting for ES6. Keep doing what your doing and thanks for the content

I find the Ayleids very strange and interesting. you feel the ancient vibe in the ruins.

As a historian (real world), I found this to be an interesting look at the Ayleids. It's a pity we don't have more data to work with. Looking forward to more videos about say, the Direnni and Snow Elves.

The Ayleids are a very evil version of the Etruscans.

10:00 dont forget Wuuthraad, a weapon without enchantments that soyjack'd elves and harnesses the sheer power of racism to deal more damage to mer

the title reminds me of: "I am ozymandius, King of kings! Look upon my work and despair! ...And naught beside remains." A great empire now only remembered for the ruins now lying in another Empire started by its slaves.

[Pelinal was here. Killing lots and lots of Mer]

One of the main reasons I love the ayleids is that even though they worship the daedra they still retain their aldmeri/ Altmeri culture and heritage with their anuic Leaning philosophies unlike for example the dunmer there’s nothing aldmeri about them which to be honest also make them unique and cool

I truly believe the late and great John RR Tolkien would love the Elder Scrolls stories. The nods toward the Silmarilion are rather astounding and make the Skyrim experience truly enjoyable. That ring at the bottom of the White run well is ingenious. 😂 Awesome video too.
