Phil is so open and honest, seems like such a decent guy. He had a great look going on in the early days, the hair, make-up, clothes- great style.

The Human League is the best Synth Pop band in the world

Phil Oakey seems such a down to earth and a humble person.

Phil has such a great unique voice. The voice of the early 80s

The early 80's was an explosion of creativity good and bad. Human League=Good.

Phil and the girls are great, i love the fact that they stayed great mates , they seem really down to earth

One of my favourite groups of the 80's.

It's so good to see genuine and creative people have success and not be too greedy but still be grounded in reality and open and honest about their careers.

I am privileged due to the fact that I was aged 19 when the album "Dare" came out. My friends and I all knew then that it was going to be a defining moment in music pop music history. It was as though we had all been waiting for the future to arrive and now here it was. You could feel it in your bones that this was something entirely new and was going to change the world. There is no music to day that comes anywhere near to having that feeling. Today we a living in a time of everlasting nostalgia repackaged to sound new but in fact it's a repeat of what's gone before. Revolutions of all kinds have ended and we exist in perpetual circle of things come by. That is  why I feel so grateful for growing up at a time of great innovation and originality.

Funny how The Human League and Def Leppard have kinda followed a similar tracjectory for part of their careers. They both come from Sheffield, formed in 77, shared some glam influences(Bowie etc),were part of important 80's movements (new romantics, new wave,2nd British invasion),both kickstarted the 2 definitive dominant 80's music forms(synth-pop,hair metal),both had albums called hysteria(tho one was more successful than the other! Not need to guess lol),both are fans of each other too as well as being friends. Phil Oakey said that DL are the HL with loud guitars and more hair, and Joe Elliot said that when DL were making pyromania it was influenced by dare.

Phil's integrity speaks volumes

Human League was very underrated.   It was the first UK Techo band

You want the 80s you get the 80s...saw them last week. Still 👌

great band, and great people.  and Philip... what a babe.

Loved human league! Summer 1981 was so memorable as a little girl hearing don’t you want me on the radio - that song is an 80s new wave classic

I'm a Doncaster boy now living in London. I wish I'd remained in my leafy enclave in South Yorkshire with my fellow hillbillies

Just love Phil's honesty. Top man.

the last bit, like last few mins when Phil talks about why he doesnt live in London....i loved how humble, honest, vulnerable of an answer he gave. I've heard his other interviews and he is so human (no pun) and its so nice to hear people be so genuine.

Still better than all the pop shyte of today ....

What a great group, Phil and the girls     were my heroes back in the early 8o's along with Soft Cell. I was blown away by how good they looked and sounded in concert in Dublin  circa 2000.. so tight ❤
