The epitome of a perfect  pop music  song.Nothing to change or even dare to touch, even after..... 50 years since  its original recording,The catchy guitar riff, the marimbas accompanying the piano, the irreplaceable top noch  non-autotuned tight  vocals, the angelic harmonies in the chorus, the fantastic drumming sound and all the crispy production make it an instand graber no one  no cover version could ever overtake unless it's only them..A solid 10 out of 10.

Mamma Mia is 50 years old and still so relevant. Their music is timeless.

IF IT WASN"T FOR THEW NIGHTS next one?!!!WOOOOWWW!

Plenty of Abba's instrumental hooks, all handwritten, non generic/computer made ,which means lots of talent and hard work involved. All are iconic ,excellent as you said  and "immortal".( i.e. 'Mamma Mia/SOS/Money Money Money/Gimme Gimme Gimme/Lay all your love on me/Voulez Vouz/Chiquitita etc).not to mention that each song has so many in it that someone who samples music can make 3-4 new tracks out of just one ABBA song.

I would recommend watching Aussie 90's movie Muriel's wedding.
Muriel(Toni Collette) and her friend played by Rachel Griffith do a performance and lip sync this song at a talent show.
Muriel uses abba songs as her emotional support.
Abba's videos are known for the shot where they focus on the lips and change positions, blurr the shots.

I think they recorded some of their videos on film material. That's why the picture quality is so good.

Everyone has their favourites, but i think there's a general concensus for a "top 15 best ABBA songs" in the fandom.
Mamma Mia is one of ABBA's 5 best songs, along with Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Fernando, and The Winner Takes it All.
Vying for positions 6-10 would be Chiquitita, SOS, Super Trouper, Take a Chance On Me, and Knowing Me Knowing You. And vying for positions 11-15 would be Gimme Gimme Gimme, Lay All Your Love on Me, Money Money Money, Voulez Vous, Ring Ring, and I Do I Do I Do I Do I Do.

If us Aussies hadnt pushed for this to be released as a single Abba would not be around today. Australia put Abba on the map of the world!

Maybe the Best Pop Song ever made...
(from 50 years ago...)
Tomorrow...   will be Disco vibes!!! 😍
❤️🇨🇱🤗🤓👌

You will need to check out ABBA’s 2021 new album VOYAGE they had out after decades of not releasing anything!

Never thought about it before but it’s actually marimba we hear, even when we see piano hammers moving.

There is actually an homage to this video in the movie "Priscilla Queen of the Desert".

Great reaction! 🙂 Originally "Mamma Mia" wasn't going to be released, however the Australian Music Show "Countdown" promoted it and public demand forced "Polar Music" to release it. It was a No.1 hit for 9 or 10 weeks! 😊 Then it was released elsewhere in the world! Australia knew a hit when they heard it! 🫡

Back in the 80's when people never admitted to liking ABBA I used to go in the pub and without fail put this song on the dukebox and watch everyone tapping their feet and getting into the song... so many closet ABBA fans

I love it, but tomorrow's song is one of my favorites. I hope you check out the “Japan, 1978” version. It's perfect.

Awesome! If it wasn't for the nights is a first class song - Voulez Vous album. Looking forward to tomorrow's reaction.

I'm loving this ABBA journey,  the next one if it wasnt for the nights is brilliant,  should have been a single

i'm sure you know of the films Murial's Wedding & Priscilla (if not than you should be) those films definitely inspired the musical "Mamma Mia", even Erasure's "abba-esque" did too

One important thing to understand about Abba's lyrics is that they often seem cheerful if you don't pay close attention, but when you do you find that some of their most upbeat songs have lyrics that are much darker. The next song you're going to react to is a perfect example. People who don't know what it's about think it's a happy song, but it's actually about Bjorn saying he could get through breaking up with Agnetha if he didn't find himself alone at night thinking about the break up. Even songs like Mamma Mia and SOS have dark undertones.
