This short excerpt is one of the greatest moments in cinema. What a shame this film was not completed!  Charles Laughton is one of the greatest actors who ever lived. How come this got only 7 likes?

Laughton could play villains, kings, lawyers, misfits… and make them all feel completely real. Total legend!

I CLADIUS IS A MUST READ.

Back when talent trumped beauty. Real faces.

One of the greatest actors of all
Time …

"I have survived all these years with half my wits while many others have perished with all of theirs intact".

The great Dame Flora Robson ❤️

He was still great years later in Spartacus.

Love Laughton.

'Nature never quite finished me'.

the greatest of them all....Charles Laughton

Laughton was a genius beset by demons.  His wife, Elsa Lanchester (Bride of Frankenstein), stuck by him during those tortured times in a far less tolerant and forgiving society.  That VOICE...my godfathers...superb!!

Wow I was totally absorbed while watching this. There are so few who appreciate the old acting style, I think its as good as, if not better, than anything made now.

The Masterpiece that was never finished.  Laughton was incredible

Who is still watching a massive 90 years later - 1937 to 2027. 🎥🎥🎥

Brilliant when actors were masters of their trade.

A coincidence to note: Charles Laughton portrayed Claudius, albeit in a never-finished film adaptation of I, Claudius, and years later would portray a senator named Gracchus in another movie about Rome (Spartacus), and Sir Derek Jacobi portrayed Claudius in the BBC adaptation of I, Claudius and himself would go on to portray a senator named Gracchus in another movie about Rome (Gladiator).

do you  remember  when  acting   was  a  requirement  for  being  an    actor ?

When actors were brilliant and talented. Charles Laughton the greatest actor ever. Was very very gifted.

Absolutely the best actor and superb acting. He was excellent in Hunchback of Notre Dame, and in Witness for the Prosecution. He was stunningly good.
