4:04 missed opportunity to stitch in exaggerated swagger of black teen 😂😂😂

Like, I am a leftist and I’m a woman of color, but, this video is very…..cynical? Pessimistic? The comparison between a POC wanting to work at marvel or dc and Sisyphus felt misguided, kinda discounting the ability for someone to push for change whilst also recognizing that the capital systems in place will need to be removed in the future etc

I can like mainstream superheroes, support indie artists and push for change all at the same time

8:50 the specific double whammy… born in 85, we couldn’t just be a nerd, you had to be a Nerd Plus… plus you play a sport, plus you sing/dance, plus you could game, plus you can dress.

It’s a difficult path ahead, give up on great characters like Storm and Mr.Terrific sounds crazy, I support indie books but it is an effort to stay informed about kickstarters.

Its nice to have you back posting, bro.Great video btw.

12:42 i think we can blame disney here

Welcome back G!

Excellent video as always! Your definitely one of my favorite content creators

Static is only time a black creator owned character did well

Omg welcome back!

Not even rdcworld?

Glad to see ya back

Comics Explained most definitely won't save us lmao

Excellent Video and really prof made! garacias Brotha! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

The word nerd was invented by dr seuss  in his book if i ran a zoo in the 1950s
Geek originally referred to circus geekshows where the geek would chase around a chicken before biting its head off

The Urkel character may get the credit for popularizing the Black Nerd Archetype but the 1st Blerd I remember seeing in the media was Theo, the Black Criminal Computer Hacker from Die Hard portrayed by Clarence Gilyard (R.I.P).

Thank you for this video

Fellow 1/2 blerd here. I just want to say I love this video. Everything about it is why I still love youtube today. Blerd without fear definitely got me back into comics and I bought a few of them Dakota Incident books because of him. Marvel not doing Blade which is already an extremely successful movie franchise but doing Ghost Rider which has had 2 bomb movies is very telling. The biker edgy white boy thing is in style because of the current political climate. It feels as though the war on DEI aka black and brown people seems to have had an effect that they don't want to admit. Keep fighting the good fight. If i can hello in anyway please let me know.

Blerds can be and do anything!
