Hey, you are such a great teacher! I really love your focus on the psychological aspect of making art - of staying relaxed and focused on the whole picture, of losing yourself in the activity, etc. It's really helpful.

Thank you so much! Over the years, I've usually just used graphite and charcoal for portraits, but recently started using color. I wasn't happy with the shadows, but didn't know what was wrong. I try to use complementary colors for my background, but never thought to use that for the shadows. I miss having an art teacher (also my best friend) for the last few years, we both have significant health issues. Being older than dirt is a challenge. I can't wait to try this, maybe I won't be so critical of my artwork. Again thank you, you've helped immensely and I enjoyed the video. You have a new follower.
