shout out to the hair stylist at Sports Card Clubhouse - they did amazing work for this episode lol

CGC doing “restored” is actually brilliant. Works well with comics

Great episode! Btw Type 1 Mantle is the Mantle you’re born with and Type 2 is the one you get from eating too much ice cream.

It would just make sense to me if PSA would have all TCG grade at a total separate facility or section of their facility.  Pretty sure with some of the random grades that make no sense that they were from a non sports grader.

Correction: according to GemRate, CGC has a pop 8 Type 1 and a pop 6 Type 2, for a total pop of 14 for the 1952 Mantle.

CGC multi tier grading is their biggest mistake and will hold them back. You can't have multiple variations of the same grade, it won't work long term.

A friend of mine had a good idea to reduce the back log.  PSA should have levels of submissions by type of card.  Example, base cards of any kind can not exceed a submission value at PSA of say 10K cards within a 3 year period, then a hold is put on those submissions for X amount of time until they are open for submission again.  Cards that are numbered or signatured can all be graded, no limitation.  Parallels or relics with no numbers have a similar submission process as base cards.

33:45 I am telling you.. Tyrese is the dark horse for mvp this year. That guy has gotten progressively better every single year. Look at his stats last vs Ant.. many may say Maxey had a better season compared to Ant. The 76ers are loaded with smart talent

Great show!

Psa exec. was talking about ironing out cards and magazines before submission. F PSA corporate greed and human error makes it absolutely inaccurate unless you have a PSA in your store front.

I hope they do, we need a reputable and viable alternative to the Death Star to make PSA do better.

Those two guys together is a deadly combination 🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🏽😎💯👌

CGC 10 Pristine looks nice

Finally someone said it.  I grade for me not for money.  Authentication who does it in PSA that we hold in such high esteem

💩 PSA Population CONTROL.  I have ~$237,000 in Tom Brady RCs - mostly BGS 9.5 and SGC 9.5 & 10s - got a few PSA 6 and PSA 8s from recent Conversion Submission Attempts.   I’ll reach out to PSA; However, I’m going to try CSG if I can and start Converting my Brady RCs as PSA Pop Controls now.  Start converting to CSG nota bad idea with PSA Pop Controling.  🙏🏼

That cat meow scared the crap out of me😅

That Gretzky was done by the same person (family) that did the Jordan 10/10 signing.

They did (still do?) work for Collectors, so even that inside connection couldn't keep the Gretzky a PSA 10.

I recall when K-Mart and Wal-Mart were head-to-head, until Wal-Mart became a supermarket. K-Mart stayed behind in its own blunder of retail madness, and today, the store is nearly extinct. You cannot compete without growing your business. Wal-Mart's main competition today is Meijer, because both are supermarkets. CGC needs to become the Meijer to the Wal-Mart (PSA). Otherwise, they've lost before even starting.

Glad to hear of your West Michigan ties T Pott! Greetings from Holland. Loving the beach and card content this weekend!

16:21 shut down value grading, let a competitor capture market share with a better looking slab that increased the focus on the asset. This is assuming PSA would ever open value grading at the previous rate. I’m kinda expecting to never see the value sub, missions come back from PSA
