SGC just shot themselves in the foot. I had a big (20) stack of T206 cards i was getting ready to get graded or reholdered but that's not going to happen at $50 each.

CGC sounds good but they already have a 150 day wait time! Screw grading at this point. I'm going to order some T206 One Touch from Pennysleever and call it a day

Neo, stop giving these companies wings to never come down to value pricing. You should be encouraging them to offer value bulk pricing because its still a hobby to some of us. Not everyone is getting rich off grading.

If psa went to 49.99/card they will no doubt get hammered with a bulk influx of cards and immediately get flooded again. As far as psa ignoring history and condemning themselves to repeat it….thats just piss poor management.

A year ago I sent sgc two large orders and they were back to me delivered in 2 weeks. Now its like 50 days. Crazy.

With graded cards being accepted as an alternative asset class, grading will not go away and cheap grading will not come back. Grading companies have to figure out a way to filter out base cards that get sent in non stop for grading.

FYI I submitted to CGC through COMC at the lowest price tier and it recently was returned - waiting time 64 actual days. So I think return times are varying quite a bit at CGC.

If PSA determines that they make more money by grading less cards at $80 each than it was previously (likely), then there is absolutely no incentive for them ever to lower their prices.

Wow CGC numbers are crazy. They will top 1 million cards a month soon. Unreal growth, they are coming for PSA. I do agree with you about the authentic cards hitting the pop report, but it is what it is...

8:01 I've had a stack of some really vintage and prewar cards that I've wanted to send to SGC for a while now. But the turn around time has been crazy high for months now, so I've waited on sending them till it drops again. Them raising the price feels like a way to deal with their backlog caused by the PSA raid.

The exact same thing is not happening again. After Covid, CGC had gone through three major changes to its label, it’s name, removal of subgrades, and transition to gem 10 versus gem 9.5. Now we’re four years beyond that and CGC has a much higher degree of market acceptance and brand loyalty.

You miss the point why they didn't raise TCG grading prices earlier. That was where the battle was/is at. PSA did/does not dominate TCG like sports. Had they raised the price earlier this would have swung more business to CGC and put them in position to be the go to grading company for non sports. PSA was/is still fighting for control of the TCG grading market. PSA knew/knows they could take advantage of their sport card customers because they were so far ahead of all the other grading companies in this area. They basically screwed their sportscard customers to fight for control of the tcg market.

I had 2 sports card orders that came back from SGC this month (Sept 2026) a total of 36 cards while check my shipping I noticed the price change form $15 to $50 wow that's insane, so I'm going to hold off until things comes back to Normal

Speaking on long grading times, figured i would try out TAG since PSA was so slow (at the time). Sent in 1 card on Apr. 9th and still havent reacieved it back, nor has it been added to their POP report.

Only real plays right now seem like PSA super express+ or CGC standard+ where you can get either of those back in about a month. For any cards worth the price. Other than that just sell it raw or hold it for later.
