I love going through baseballcard pedia doing this same thing! Then looking at the inserts and rarity

90s Numbered / Low Pop parallels and inserts are becoming a sweet spot for the relatively new collectors. The modern design and scarcity appeal to the young eye while the aura of these retired HOFers and superstars appeal to their specific sense of nostalgia.

My favorite is the Jeter mirror card. In a hobby where it is harder and harder to get an edge and stay one step ahead, Graig is really on to something here.

Really enjoyed this broadcast.    Congratulations on picking up that Jeter Linchpins card.    Up until a couple months ago all I focused on was vintage baseball cards.     However, I recently  started watching channels like High Pop Professor and got introduced to these cards and the subject matter you guys discussed about print runs.    I have been picking up some Bowman's Best and Topps Finest refractors.    As you guys know, the cost of these cards have exploded upwards the last few years.     Would like to see more content about trends and some of the amazing cards of this era.     I think you guys are correct that this era of 1990's refractors could become, if it hasn't already,  a major part of the hobby for years to come.

Great discussion on the pack odds of cards in the late 90s.

I’m only about 20 minutes in, but this is exactly my wheelhouse. I’ve been taking this approach with unnumbered inserts of Ronald Acuña Jr and Griffey for a while.

I’m basically priced out of Griffey at this point though. Glad I grabbed what I could while I could though.

Im glad yall talked about the 1995 to 2004 era of cards. As someone whoever deals low end cards to get my high end PC items. I constantly search through dollar bins for inserts and refractor from this era

There are so many great cards from the 90s/00s that are rare but cheap!

I love the pack odds, etc. I think if this was shown on every listing, prices would go up for sure. I think this is how “lower graded cards” could really jump in value, just like how the pop report is show. Then add in the grade factor and it’s mathematically nearly impossible for many of these that are found especially the 10’s.
Edit: I just got to the point in the video where you basically state what I just said.

This is where I’ve been the last few years for my Maddux and McGwire collection. Love this episode!

Graig looks refreshed!

A rare card that I recently saw that I forgot about is the first "lumberjacks" wood cards out of I think leaf limited.Out of I think 2500 total cards...heavy lumber from Topps today is the modern version of that card.WAY cool!

I collect Barry Sanders exclusively. The linchpins is quite expensive and pretty cool. I haven't really considered trying to grab one because I'm still trying to collect the majority of 90s refractors I love before the prices get any crazier. To me the beauty of some of those are unparalleled. That's a nice pins you have! Love the talks guys. 👍

Enjoyed this one, as usual.   I think it's good to have side projects in the hobby to keep it fresh and interesting.   Graig diving into modern did that for him.  ~ Brian Kane

Thanks Graig for pointing me down yet another rabbit hole, j/k, great episode I am going after one of the Jeters that you showed now

Awesome Jeter cards
Love the cereal box in the back ground

Being able to type in the cert number and get an instant offer for any card you see for sale online or in person is wild! Pretty sure the market really took off at the same time that instant offer program started

Great video. Thanks for sharing the research tips. Fascinating.

I've been looking for a 2011 Topps Hope Diamond Derek Jeter all year.  One finally went up for auction in a PSA 6 a couple months ago.  It was at $204 with ten seconds left to go.  I placed a bid of $1,234.00.  I thought for sure I was going to get the card for 3 or 4 hundred.   But it wasn't enough, I was still outbid!

You can type in the cert number and see offers for anything. Don't tell anyone I use this to buy and sell often.
