You know what is cooler than those catches ? The Run outs.

A cricket ball is smaller, heavier and harder than a baseball.
.

watch the deadly bouncers you will be shocked

Cricket ball is much harder than a baseball.   The lacquered leather cover ( and the core) have absolutely no " give" unlike a baseball that is slightly padded.

Hi guys you are not alone I'm an Aussie and I find it hard to explain to my non cricket friends 😂

You could watch women's T20 world cup final on 5th july, to get the flow of the game

20:20.   Good idea there have been many injuries and even deaths unfortunately R.I.P Phillip Hughes

I'm fairly certain, when you asked who was the first person to do this, it was that very clip of Glenn Maxwell that happened to be playing when the question was asked. That's why there's so many replays of it, the commentators are simply astounded at what they've just seen, they're really breaking it down in detail to understand what they've seen 😊

One big difference with cricket balls is that they don’t change the ball after every pitch/delivery, depending on the type of match, we use less than 10 balls a match.

if you notice a lot of cricketers have bandages on their fingers, that is because it does hurt and even tears up the finger webbing all the time

There is an old cricket adage. Never run on a mis-field.  If the ball is dropped when attempting a catch then the batters will go "hmmm" and stay put!

If the guys trying to catch the ball on the boundary, trying to prevent a 6, make an error and drop the ball, the ball is still in play, much like baseball, and they have to get the ball back and tag the batsmen out or they will keep scoring runs.

These were just England cricket catches - so, cannot say they were the best. Also, the full webbed baseball gloves makes it easy to catch.

If a ball is hit by the bat into the field, the same happens in cricket as in baseball - the fielder  picks up the ball and tries to run out the guys running (the equivalent of tagging a batter before he reaches base). The "run out" in cricket happens by the field hitting the stumps and removing the bails while the batsman is still out of the crease (the white line demarcating the "safe" and out).

If they drop the catch, the batter remains not out, and the number of runs completed between the wickets is added to the score

If my memory serves me right the 1st person to catch a ball, then throw in the air, then go out of the boundary and comeback to catch it again was New Zealand's Chris Harris in 2001. I remember this because as a kid I used to practice this myself and wished someone would do it and Harris actually did it. It was still pretty rare at that time. It has become pretty common in the last decade and teams actually train for such catches now.

Love your cricket videos

Those 'combination' catches on the boundary are now more common because all grounds use a boundary rope. While common in England for many years, in other countries the boundary was the actual fence that surrounds the playing area. The rope was introduced to eliminate the risk of injury to a fielder hitting the fence while trying to stop or catch the ball. When fences were still in use, if a player leaned against the fence to make a catch, or caught the ball and then fell over the fence, it would be a 6.

If the player inside the playing area who receives the throw from their teammate outside of the boundary rope drops the ball or doesn't catch it before it hits the ground, it is considered a normal dropped catch, and the batter is not out.

11:25..  as others have said, a cricket ball is MUCH harder than baseball. It's like a rock. If you don't catch it right it will break fingers and even when you do it hurts like hell.

Hi guys. If you want to watch DEFENCE more than go for Test Cricket Highlights. T20 format is for fast paced attacking games.

For understanding tests are like long drawn military campaigns, and T20 are special ops-quick, fast and distructive.
