He Messed with a King Cobra... Then This Happened | Zoologist Reacts

A man handles a king cobra, gets bitten, and tragically doesn’t make it to medical care in time. In this episode, I break down what actually happened, the misinformation that spread afterwards, and why delays in treatment can be so dangerous with a serious neurotoxic snakebite.
We also look at dholes facing off with deer, a cellar spider overpowering another spider, shrew “caravanning”, a two-headed red-eared slider, a stilt-legged weevil, Gooty sapphire tarantulas, macaques attacking tourists, Stokes’ sea snake, python rescues, an elk chasing a golf cart, and quite possibly the most dangerous land crab in Florida.
As always, the aim here is to look beyond the viral clip and talk about the actual animal behaviour, biology and context behind what you’re seeing.
Clips in this episode include:
Dholes • Cellar spiders • King cobras • Slider turtles • Shrews • Two-headed turtles • Indian pythons • Stilt-legged weevils • Burmese pythons • Gooty sapphire ornamentals • Macaques • Stokes’ sea snake • Southern African pythons • Land crabs • Elk • Plovers

If he were drunk it really didn't matter how fast he got help, he was dead already.

For me, it’s probably a toss-up between the shrews caravanning and the Gooty sapphire tarantulas being handled so casually.
Also — on the king cobra story, the biggest takeaway is simple: don’t handle a wild venomous snake yourself, and if you are bitten, seek medical help immediately.
Curious what everyone thought of the dhole behaviour too, because that was one of the most interesting clips in the lineup.
