A bear turns on its keeper during a zoo show, a crocodile grabs a lion, a serval stands its ground against a cheetah, and a dolphin discovers a very unusual way of getting a meal…

In this episode, I react to some of the most fascinating, chaotic and bizarre animal clips I’ve come across recently — explaining the behaviour behind what we’re seeing and, occasionally, wondering what on Earth the humans involved were thinking.

We’ll look at red deer, bears, crocodiles, lions, cobras, emus, leopards and baboons, tarantulas, dolphins, tiger snakes, servals, sea turtles, sea snakes, camel spiders, giant weevils, comb jellies and European pond turtles.

As always, I’m a zoologist reacting from the perspective of animal behaviour and natural history — and some of these clips definitely need a bit of context.

Which clip surprised you the most?
