There was a 3-4 year stretch when I only played Interpol in my car. The first 4 records and the live record they released were literally the soundtrack to some dark years. I needed their music for whatever reason _ im 100% sure of that. It's amazing they are still making music , while releasing a new album every 3-4 years. Thanx gents. You guys out grew us here in Memphis. The times u did perform here _ i was not going to miss it for the world...
One of the best Interpol interviews i’ve seen. Cool to know Pau’s dad had a guitar collection!! How i wish to know what these guys are reading nowadays…
Love Paul and Daniel. I can easily imagine talking to them about music for daysss. I adore their music, how authentic they are, the vibe. Ohhh, can't wait to see them on tour again....
Great interview! It truly feels like Interpol is back, I haven't seen people this hyped since Marauder honestly. And I remember that Matador Records still cared about them, they really pushed with Marauder. Same can't be said about The Other Side Of Make-Believe, it lacked press/promotion and sales. It's kind of a shame because it has it's bangers, shouldn't be overlooked imo.
I loved the interview—those questions that might seem casual but actually delve deep into the structure of making music and the meaning behind composing it. Congratulations! I also loved Daniel's answers; he truly values the significance of the composition process and recognizes that not everyone gets the chance to have that experience—his responses are always grounded in reality. Thank You,from Buenos Aires Argentina.
New album is very good but these guys made some of the best music on their initial records as any band ever. No matter what they do they are still a terrific band based on that alone.
