I cannot listen to that first solo without tearing up. David Gilmour has a way of communicating the heart and soul with his guitar and its something nobody can really do quite like him.
After HS graduation (1979), i got a car and, every day, I drove 45 minutes each way to a tech college. That's enough time to listen to the entire Animals album on my tape deck every day. So that's what i did. 100s of times. I have such an intimate memory of every detail of this album, I revel in it when I listen.
Imagine being a 16 year old kid your first concert PINK FLOYD along with 80 thousand other fans! That was me in 1977 at Cleveland 🏟 they were on the ANIMALS TOUR! When you start at the top of the mountain everything else is downhill!
In the 70s we listened to dark side of the Moon , meddle, Wish you were here, animals and finally The Wall up and down at school. That was one of the coolest times of my life
I was 14 when this album came out. I bought the album and the first time I played it on my little turntable I sat on my bed and cried. It absolutely leveled me. Fast forward 49 years. I'm 63, have listened to it a jillion times, and every time the music takes me back to that first time I heard it. What a magnificent feeling.
Wow I am 74 years old and have been listening to PF since 1969. My favorite band of all time. I am so impressed with your reaction to this song. The fact that you can hear the interaction between David and Richard (unfortunately gone for ever)was excellent. Also your awareness of how important Nick Mason's drumming is.This is the first time I listed to your channel and will subscribe.
Hey, that was truly beautiful to watch. Every little half smile, every little raised eyebrow of surprise, every little wince of pain, showed you understood and felt the song so well. Really sensitive and insightful comments at the end too.
