Let's get together and collect signatures from the entire LotR fandom around the world to ask Warner Bros. to let Peter Jackson release the 1,300 hours of footage from the trilogy.

So awesome to see all of this deleted stuff. Hopefully we get an Extended Extended Edition someday. 😄😅

The Return of the King (videogame) actually shows even more deleted scenes. During each mission, Gandalf narrates what’s happening while movie clips play, including deleted scenes you don’t see anywhere else!

Kind of wish they kept in the idea of Saruman wanting to take the Ring for himself, considering in the book that's what he desired from the start. The movies potray him mostly as a deadicated servent to Sauron, while the books presented him more as a two faced snake trying to play both sides.

I really wish that they had shown Aragorn healing both Eowyn and Faramir, that could have really tied in with their story..Faramir was actually sick for a long time and was only healed when given the kingsfoil leaves..

I wish they do a "super extendended extra plus raven hawk silver 3000 edition" of the 3 movies

Omg I actually love the Gandalf version of the prologue !!!

I've been inside The Green Dragon and the hobbit holes in New Zealand. They are beautiful highly detailed structures and nothing is roped off. You can walk around wherever you wish and I sat at Bilbo's writing desk, picked up and pretended to use his quill.

sauron stabbing himself to make the ring would be badass

@JurassicKnight01 9 months ago

They should totally add some more of these scenes back in when they release the 25th anniversary edition!

A reasonable length would be about 7 or 8 hours. True fans can never get enough.

21:21 To be completely honest, it's good they decided to omit this scene, and the following river confrontation as well. This actually enhances tension (the Fellowship suspects they'd been followed but they're not sure who chases them and when they gonna attack) and bring so much weight to Amon Hen fight. From the audience's standpoint, it's also good to have this moment of respite, to have some time to mourn Gandalf and realize how vulnerable these guys are, smth which wouldn't happen if the Fellowship would spend whole time running to one battle after another. It was actually the issue in the first 2 Hobbit installments which were cool in their own way but had too much action going on.

Although the hilltop viewing of the Shire by the four hobbits would have been nice, the scene in the Green Dragon of the four of them sitting down for some ale together is most fitting, I think. They’re no longer the innocents like the other hobbits all around them. And they know this. There is a bit of sadness in their eyes yet they toast, drink their ales, and life goes on.

And then Sam makes his move on Rosie. Perfect.

Ian McKellem is an amazing actor. His voice is so soothing. I would love to meet him ❤❤❤

Dang, I really, really wish they could do a 'super extended' version where they just put in pretty much everything here, especially the alternate scenes with Arwen fighting in Helm's Deep and Sauron and Aragorn fighting. They would have to do special effects on a ton of scenes, I know, but it would be so very much worth it, they could even release them in theaters to make them some more money too!

I know it didn’t happen in the book but Aragorn fighting Sauron would’ve been so badass

A few things in 'Return of the King' I wish had been more faithful to the book:
First, in the book they explained that the act of striking the Witch King caused Eowyn and Merry to fall victim to the Black Breath and become comatose.
Second, they showed that Aragorn was able to heal the wounded and sick because 'the hands of the King are the hands of a healer,' and that was how the people of Minas Tirith realized that the King had returned. He sent someone to find some athelas, the same herb he had used to treat Frodo after the Witch King stabbed him at Weathertop.
Third, when Pippin finds Merry on the battlefield, instead of asking, "Are you going to leave me?" Merry asked, "Are you going to bury me?" I think that would have had a lot more emotional impact.
Finally, in the book the meeting and development of the relationship between Faramir and Eowyn took place over perhaps three short scenes - wouldn't have added more than another 60-90 seconds to the movie - but it felt a lot more natural. They meet when she asks the person in charge of the Houses of Healing to let her talk to Faramir, because he is now the Steward of Gondor. She wants to leave, but the doctors say she can't, so Faramir lets her get moved to a room with a view toward where the army went. Then they meet walking in the garden and talk, and it's clear that they've been meeting and talking repeatedly. Finally Faramir tells Eowyn that he has fallen in love with her. I think that would have felt more realistic than just looking at each other once, then him coming up and taking her hand and her putting her head on his shoulder. That seems out of character for her.
