I have not shut up about how phenomenal Ronnie is as a vocalist since like 2006 😂 you need to check out I’m not a vampire revamped and the drug in me is reimagined!

I am a metal head at heart, and this was and still is the first Papa Roach song I fell in love with as an angsty teen. THIS version brought me to tears.

Can we all take a moment to appreciate Ronnie's epic mastery of the emotional vocal crack? Im sure there is a name for it, but it is the purposeful crack in the voice at the end of a note that sounds almost like the singer is going to cry and it just infuses emotion into the performance that cannot be ignored... you just viscerally feel it.

16:00 Ronnie puts the sound to “not being fine” perfectly. It’s exactly how that feels. ❤

So in my opinion the original was the voice of an angry teenager mad at the world. FIR's version is that of an adult screaming for help from the world around them... absolutely a great cover!!!!!

Even more amazing... he laid this down on the first take.  FIRST TAKE. in and out in 20 minutes

Thank you for saying all these cool stuff about Ronnie. I know I may sound silly, but I am honestly honored to live at the same time as he, he is the greatest artist I have ever heard. So open minded, talented, creative.. World needs more people like him.

Genuinely LOVED this analysis and reaction! Ronnie is my favorite vocalist of my generation. He walked into a studio and did this masterpiece in ONE take. Dude is a genius.

14:16 i love his choice to go with the grit for more of a gutteral cry instead of the traditional screams here. It just adds so much more raw emotion to the song!

At times when he cries, "I'm Crying," it almost sounds like he's saying, "I'm Crying & I'm TRYING!"
Which makes sense to me because the World goes back to being WHOLE as a symbol of your Spiritual Well Being Healing After Trying Hard.... & also from crying your eyes out, :face-pink-tears::face-purple-crying::eyes-purple-crying: lol!!

One take....the fact that he did it just to see what it sounded like and ended up.with this after working on the production is phenomenal 👏

There is a video of Ronnie nervously showing Jacoby the unmixed version

After seeing reactions to this version, I'm came to the conclusion no one ever listen to the lyrics of this song until now(not saying you were one of them).  I love your break down on this. His voice is phenomenal.  Jacoby Shaddix loves this version and Ronnie had him listen to a raw recording for approval before he finished it.

I was lucky enough to see Falling in Reverse last Saturday night 7-29-23, they was amazing 👏 ❤ Jacoby actually came out and did Popular Monster with him, it was amazing 😮

I absolutely love how much your happiness and enjoyment shines through, how thrilled you were when Ronnie did that rough roar near the end. It's really cute when you're surprised and delighted with something. I also liked the movie Inception, and could absolutely see it. I could honestly almost see this entire music video being included in the movie, from what I remember of having seen that film. Really enjoyed this reaction and watching and listening to you.

The slow smirk then nose scrunch. Yes! Exactly that reaction! Love it 😂 Ive watch ALOT of reactions to this and they ALL think they know where its going, rock pop to metal of course, right? WRONG! 😂❤

Papa Roach - anger and rebellion covering depression, where some ideation of self-termination might live. Everyone around seems to feel the same but no one talks about.

Ronnie's version - I can't go on living this way. The internal monolog of the moment when a choice is made to keep going, or not. The fear of facing another day versus the fear of not.

Papa Roach's version makes the subject of the last resort relatable. Scream it out and keep going.
Ronnie's version is relatable, at least for me, to the grown adults who face this feeling every damn day. And no one talks about it. This version brings tears everytime.
In 2022, my 28yo son made the choice to stop the pain. I miss him. Every day. The Popular Monster album is a connection to him.

I love this reaction. Having the technical vocal methods Ronnie uses, like chest vs head voice, explained is appreciated!

This is so beautiful and haunting. I cant stop listening to it. Its giving ne chills and legitimate tears in my eyes

I am super new to Ronnie, I had no idea I knew this song, didn’t recognize title, the video where Ronnie plays his idea for Jacoby is super sweet, he’s so nervous he’s shaking. I almost let one person skew my view on Ronnie when he was part of a compilation video about his life. So thankful I sought out his music. This song is hitting me at the time I need it the most. My grief over the loss of a loved one in a traumatic devastating way in my home is starting to leak out as I’ve just been shoving it all down.

Was unaware that Ronnie could do that. Hadnt heard much from them but this was nuts. Much like Disturbed Sound of Silence, this cover did an incredible job at matching the tone of the lyrics perfectly.
