RIP Heath Ledger 🕊️
A legend who gave us brilliance on screen and had the guts to tell stories Hollywood was scared of. He stood tall for LGBTQ love, made cowboys cry, made Jokers terrifying, and made the rest of us wish talent like his could live forever.

Heath, you left too soon… but you’ll always be the only man who could steal a movie with just a smirk. 🤍

This reaction is dedicated to you and your beautiful family ❤️🫡

The ending of this film shouldn't be lost on anyone. His only memories of Jack have to be kept in the "closet".

Ennis' daughter gets to marry some guy she knew for a year. Meanwhile, his love story spanned 20 years and couldn't lead to marriage. Instead, tragedy. The contrast is staggering.

I love Hannah's compassion for the characters. She completely understood what a complicated, frustrating situation it was for everyone. Jack and Ennis didn't understand why they felt that way for each other and in that time period there was no one or nowhere they could go to discuss it. Stuff like that, back then, wasn't even heard of to some people. This is such a great film. Heartbreaking, amazingly acted, just an all around amazing movie.

I swear Hannah is the most likable person on earth

I knew my girl Hannah was gonna struggle with both sides of it… the shirts at the end always breaks my heart. Also the mom knew and just cared for Ennis like her own.

I absolutely hate that this movie becomes a joke for most people. It’s such an emotionally rich story that is so sympathetic to every single character. It shows that because of society’s refusal to accept gays at the time, literally every single person involved is hurt. Such a beautiful film.

The world wasn’t ready for that masterpiece back in 2005.

Seeing Michelle Williams, the mother of Heath's daughter in real life, and Jake Gylenhaal, the godfather of that child, makes it hit even harder watching Ledger play this iconic character in his prime. ❤

As a gay man, I have a new level of affection for Hannah after watching this video.

She's a good one Ash - NEVER let her go.

i’m so glad hannah is such an empathetic person and she picked up on so many things i’ve seen people miss. the fact that enis pushes everyone away comes from his self loathing and the fear of them finding out he’s gay. he keeps away from his daughter because he’s afraid if she finds out, he’ll lose her forever.

One beautiful detail is that Jack had Ennis’ shirt inside his for all those years, and in the end, Ennis had Jack’s shirt inside his. It’s like Ennis was finally able to be there for Jack in the end.

This movie broke me... I lived a life 'in the closet'....and it hurt so bad, to the core..I can't even explain it..

This is my first time watching you two and I just wanted to say as someone who loves this movie to death, thank you for not making jokes like i’ve seen others do, and just the downright compassion and empathy Hannah showed from the very beginning

Watching two straight people realize how shitty society makes it to be gay, especially in the past, warms my cold dead gay heart a bit. Always fun watching!

English isn't my first language, and I think this is the first time I've commented on a Just Trust Ash video. I don't know if I'll write it correctly. I just wanted to mention that Hannah is, in my opinion, the most empathetic woman I've ever seen in reactions. You guys make me laugh and cry more than movies. I love you both so much and I'll keep waiting to see more of your reactions. P.S. Thank you, you've brightened my days since my pet died.

Jack's death is done perfectly because in real life death happens that way a lot. It's just dropped on you. No leads, no warning. Just an ice cold shock that changes your life forever.
