This makes me happy. Can’t wait for 15 years from now when you get to covering the history of all the current Trails games hahaha

As a giant trails fan, who found the series in the early days of the pandemic lockdown, I've become obsessed with learning everything that went itno the evolution of this series, and going back and seeing how the first Legend of Heroes came together in this video was extremely enlightening.

All Hail Nihon Falcom! The only company your could go buy a game at the store they used as a front. Absolutely inspirational! We owe them everything in the jrpg world!

As someone that covers a lot of the music of this franchise (on the more modern side with Trails), it's really fun to go back and see how the roots looks like. Looking forward to more The Legend of Heroes videos! 😁

I discovered the Trails games in 2024 and I absolutely love them! Thanks for this history of Falcom and the Legend of Heroes. ETA: I enjoy your deep-dive videos on aspects of Final Fantasy very much, and I'm delighted that you're expanding into other games and series. Thanks for all the team's hard work! Take care! X

Love this series so much! Started with Trails in the Sky FC then went back. Falcom are legendary with Ys and TLoH. It’s crazy how many spinoffs Dragon Slayer had to where spinoffs have spinoffs lol. Stoked that there seems to be a new Dragon Slayer game

Those early Trails games are insanely good.

Great video, The development history of the other legend of heroes games before Trails is also interesting from what I have read. I hope we can see those too.

I had no idea that so many basic quality of life features came from this series! I'm actually tempted to go back and try the early ones.

I got my Turbografx CD add on in 1992, and got Ys book 1 and 2 that Christmas. Then, with Christmas money, bought Dragon Slayer a month later in January. Both were incredible games and really show you how gifted Falcom is. Made me a big fan of their style right from the start.

I'll never forget that hot, hot summer day when I beat Faxanadu on my NES. What a fantastic adventure that captured my young imagination.

I'm amazed this game already put together features like auto-save or visible enemies for turn-based RPG and even auto-battling. That sounds so anachronical to me I would have expected these to be thought of in much later titles and it's even more surprising to see they didn't really get adapted widely in other IPs for a long while. Very interesting video as always!
